Please take the time to read this and know I take water/ice and Spring thaw very serious Keep those pups away from it
like you would a 2 year old child

Good day everyone and we hope everyone stayed well and safe over the winter, doesnā€™t seem to be over yet. Please tell me we are all wishing for some warmer weather and sunshine. There have been so many tragic loss this winter when it comes to water and rivers, that this is important to share. It's that time of year, when the weather is starting to warm up. We have been cooped up over the winter and it's soon time to get back outside to enjoy nature. Our pups want that too. As the temperature rises, the spring 'thaw' begins. The ice on the ponds/lakes and river edges is getting slushy, the ice is thinning. The DANGER for breaking thru thin ice is REAL and has been tragic. PLEASE, please keep our pups on a leash during these outings or when near water. A split second changes our lives forever. Pets don't understand the concept of thin ice. We as their parents need to keep them out of harms way. The ice will eventually melt, then they can play in that water they've been waiting for.
This sweet old man in the picture is our ā€˜Dergā€™ Ceiligh is our water baby, loves the water, lives for swimming. As you see he is laying next to the pool with us but he has never tried to go in. He has dementia now in his old age, he is getting confused and paces around a bit. The pool cover is on and there is a gate so none of the animals can get on to the pool deck. However when I looked out this morning he was trying his darnest to get into the pool side. So I just want to say when we have assisted people we go straight to the ā€˜time sensitiveā€™ scenarios. One is bodies of water, pools, rivers, lakes, open wells. Things that need looking into ASAP. When we ask this we usually get the same responseā€™ my dog has never gone near the pool or never had any interest before.
SIX!!! 6 is the number of drownings that we assisted with last year alone. It can happen, and s**t happens, we do not judge anyone ever. Dogs are unpredictable, something medically could happen, something Way more interesting that you can cross your dogs path, anything.
I couldnā€™t not post this, because after what I witnessed this morning my own big hunk of handsome dog.
Sorry this is a long read, thank you to those who continued on reading.
Be safe all, know we are here for you. Time is important when your furrry loved one is lost, donā€™t wait.
