We had a wonderful surprise visit from Chloe recently! Chloe rode here from 2003 - 2006 before moving to Quebec and now lives in Montreal. She was eager to reconnect with Sonny as he created many lasting moments with her as a child and still holds a special place in her heart. It's incredible to see the impact of our horses and programs so many years later!

My whole riding life I have felt that there was a piece missing in how I work with horses. I’ve attended all kinds of clinics with various trainers, travelled to the States and northern Ontario – all in the search of training horses in a way that resonated with me. Almost 3 years ago I heard a podcast and then watched utube videos of Josh Nichol. His philosophy touched my soul so profoundly, I just had to work with him! Two years ago, I attended my first clinic with him and from that very first lesson, my life has never been the same. I had found the missing piece and finally felt “whole” in my approach to connecting with and training horses. I just had another incredible clinic with him this week and I’ve never had my horses feel so good and be so happy! If you are looking for a deep, profound connection and a philosophy that brings out the best in the horse/s in your life, check out Josh Nichol Relational Horsemanship!

Exciting News for the Spring of 2019!

Horse Cents for Kids is a non-profit charitable organization in Niagara. We are excited to offer opportunities for at-risk children in our community to experience all the incredible benefits of interacting with horses and farm life! Thanks to people like you, we are able to provide opportunities for children to participate in an After School program, a Summer Farm Experience Program and Hippotherapy (the use of horseback riding in speech therapy)!

Horses are extremely effective teachers; they can teach anyone no matter what their age, background, culture, abilities or limitations. Horses teach us effective communication, problem-solving skills, healthy boundaries, leadership, trust, empathy, compromise and responsibility, while providing an environment that lowers stress and improves emotional health and well-being. Horse Cents for Kids believes every child, regardless of circumstances should have access to horses and the therapeutic and life enhancing attributes they have to offer.

Horse Cents for Kids has partnered with the District School Board of Niagara and Big Brothers Big Sisters of south Niagara to offer a Farm Experience Program this summer. Our goal is to provide 225 children living in poverty an opportunity to learn about, interact, connect and experience horses and other farm animals. A day at the farm can be a powerful time for children to continue to draw from long after the day is gone. The connection with animals is personal and effective in nature, influencing both feelings and emotions as well as enhancing knowledge and skills. It can give hope to those in challenging life situations, empowering children in other areas of their lives.
