🔴 I'll bet some of you have extra cranberries laying around after Thanksgiving!

Cranberries are rich in antioxidants and have a substance in them that inhibits bacteria from adhering to the bladder wall, increasing resistance to infection. Options to lower the pH of urine naturally (struvite crystals) include feeding a high moisture, meat or fish-based species-appropriate diet, and adding acidifiers like fresh cranberries.

From a Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine perspective, cranberries help Drain Damp. They also make a good prebiotic fiber source.

You can add fresh cranberries to your pet's diet, but remember to finely chop them first! Start with a small amount, but I have added up to 1/4 cup of fresh, chopped cranberries per pound of food for food therapy.
