I love this

I saw a dog on the side of the road. As soon as he saw the car he got up and started barking... I stopped and saw those eyes..
I saw pain, despair but also hope... As if they were telling me take me from here...
And that's how it happened!!! We are starting our new life!
From a mom who feels lucky today 💝

I make my chews and treats from scratch, and they love them so much that little faith decided to help me bake this morning.

Here is the recipe, it is very simple.

I use either pumpkin or peanut butter for my base.

I don’t use measuring cups either so bare with me:

YOU WILL NEED :

A large bowl
A whisk
Pure pumpkin / peanut butter / banana
large flake oats
Eggs
And flour. (Optional)

Mix your base
Either the pumpkin, peanut butter, or banana.
Whisk in the eggs. Usually 2-3.
Mix in the oats until you get a paste like texture.
Sift the flour until it forms a dough like consistency.

You can make raw dough balls and allow them to dry out, or you can turn them into chews.

Bake at 350 degrees for 1hr30 mins or until brown. Rotate every 30 mins.

One chew = 42 training treats when cut up.
One batch = roughly 30 chews.

They last up to 2 weeks in the fridge,
And up to 6 months in the freezer.

Are you having difficulty with teaching your dog how to fetch?

Something so basic, that a lot of dogs enjoy complicating but with time, consistency and patience, you can break any of your dogs bad habits when it comes to play time.

Both my girls are awesome with playing fetch. That was not always the case. Hope had a habit of growling and protecting her toy / not releasing when it came to using her release word. Then faith had 0 interest when it came to playing with anything in the beginning due to her anxiety.

Here is how I got my dog interested in fetch.

You can purchase treat toys where you can stuff treats into the toys, which helps them gain interest due to their food motivation. Or you can also cut a small slit inside a tennis ball and put treats in it that way. Once the dog related her favourite treat to the toy she had no problem going after it, and then I would give her a treat when it came to returning it.

Each day I would cut back the treats, and eventually they just understood what I wanted from them both. To challenge them I also change the toys I would use to play fetch with, and started throwing things that aren’t toys, such as my wallet or my car keys.

It took about a week and a half of being consistent, but with praise, patience and a little bit of guidance they both will go after anything I throw, as well as bring it back to me.

Does your dog chew everything and anything it can put in its mouth?
That is a bad behaviour developed out of boredom.
The best way to correct this behaviour is to simply walk around your house with your dog tied to your waist, (it’s easier to pay attention to your canine that way) lots and lots of exercise to fight off the boredom, bones, toys and chew treats.
Timing is key as well, in periods of time where your dog experiences high volumes of boredom try to find time to either train or play with your pup. If you’re busy or working, leave it with a non destructible toy, or a kennel safe bone / chew.

Discipline, actually makes chewing anxiety worse in dogs. People need to realize when owning a puppy, you are sacrificing every left shoe and piece of furniture you own if you decide to take your focus off your pup for even a split second…. Yelling at your pup will scare it into causing an accident in the house, or into a different room to anxiously destroy something else.

It is not the way.

Message the page if you have any questions about helping your pup get through their anxiety. 💜

3 Biggest Reactive Dog Training Mistakes:

Your reactive dog’s barking, growling, and lunging can get WORSE if you do these 3 mistakes:

#1: Punishment

Do you punish your dog when he’s a bad dog?

This can make your dog’s reactivity WORSE. If you associate negative feelings to your dog’s triggers, your dog will only be more stressed and more reactive. It doesn’t have to be this way.

Instead, you can associate positive feelings to your dog’s triggers.

#2: Long Training Sessions

Do you train your dog for hours?

This can also make your dog’s reactivity WORSE. Reactivity training can be very stressful for your dog. If you train your dog for too long, your dog will be more stressed and more reactive.

You can instead do short 5-10 minute reactivity training sessions that are very effective.

#3: Distraction

Do you lure your dog away with a cookie every single time you pass another dog or person?

This can work in the short-term but it doesn’t change the root cause of your problem. Distraction or redirection doesn’t change the emotional response your dog has to his triggers. If you change your dog’s emotional response, he/she will stop being reactive.

You can train your dog to stay calm even when you don’t distract him.

Here’s how:

Positive 5-10 minute training sessions that change your dog’s emotional response to his triggers.

THIS:
so many people are blown away with how my girls have become so well behaved within a month. The key is, I spent the time with them. I put the love in, I put the hours in, I spent about 16 hrs a day dedicating myself to my dogs, and because of that, they are so well behaved that I can trust them in every situation around everyone and everything.

If you’re going to get a puppy, make sure you have the time to put into owning one. Even if you didn’t put the initial time in when you got your puppy you can teach an old dog new tricks you just need to be willing to put in the time and consistency. Dogs are loyal creatures. They crave praise and attention. All you have to do is give it to them.

For any tips on anxiety’s, potty training, or basic commands feel free to message me, like this page or follow me on tik tok for a series of videos I will be releasing on training your new fur baby.
