FYI
In light of the current vet shortages we are experiencing in town we have been noticing an influx of issues that cannot wait months for a regular appointment, but aren’t emergent enough to warrant an on-call visit. Our team has been trying to come up with a way to see more of these issues in a timely manner, while continuing to provide the excellent medical care that we strive for. With that said, we have decided to maximize the use of our support staff in an attempt to alleviate some of the strain felt by our community and local clinics.
Our aim is to try and accommodate more “urgent care” appointments daily where time allows, by scheduling certain appointments with our very skilled RVTs. These appointments are available for ear infections, simple eye infections, broken nails, and hot spots. As these visits are in addition to our already fully booked day, we are limited in what issues we can accommodate for these appointments. We are not able to address lumps, allergies, vomiting/diarrhea, urinary issues, or run additional diagnostics during these visits, as many of these issues need to be addressed one on one with a veterinarian.
Rest assured that if you book your pet for an urgent care appointment with an RVT, they are still receiving a full physical exam by a veterinarian while they are in the treatment area. However, your appointment will be facilitated by an RVT and they will relay the treatment plan to you on behalf of the DVM. As the veterinarian will be conducting the physical exam between other appointments, we are limited to ONE ISSUE only. Please refer to the below check list to check your pets eligibility.
**Some restrictions apply**. If you think your pet may benefit from this service please call the clinic and our Client Care Coordinators can advise whether your pet is a candidate, or if they should be booked with a veterinarian one on one.
