Canine cough - often referred to as “Kennel cough” is an infection that causes inflammation in a dogs voice box and is similar to a chest cold in humans.

While Canine Cough is NOT currently going around, it is always a good idea to watch for symptoms, especially during this time of year.

Symptoms include:

🦠 Coughing
🦠 Sneezing
🦠 Runny eyes

It can be spread the same way sickness spreads to us. Either airborne, dog to dog contact or contact with a contaminated item.

The incubation period for kennel cough is between 5-7 days which makes it difficult to control in places with lots of dogs eg: Daycares, dog parks, veterinary offices, groomers etc.

Vaccination, although not 100% effective, is your best chance at preventing or minimizing symptoms of Canine cough in your dog. Which is why Dogtrix requires that ALL dogs be vaccinated for this along with their other standard vaccinations.

At Dogtrix we do our very best to keep these viruses away by regularly cleaning and disinfecting all the surfaces your dog comes in contact with. As well, we recirculate the air regularly through the building to keep it fresh.

Please don’t bring your dog to daycare if they are experiencing any symptoms.

This is a great time to make sure your vaccines are up to date.

Dottie started on April 13th 2021💕! Dottie comes to daycare once in a while to see old friends and to get pampered! She is a big lovable girl that just cant get enough attention 🥰. Some of her besties are Nala, R***r, Fonzie, Brandie and Tucker!

Cooper turns 6 Today!

Cooper started daycare on July 29, 2021 💕 his buddies are Timber, Shadow, Colbie, and Winston OG but holding the top spot above everyone else is his BEST friend and older brother Oakley! Cooper and Oakley are always side by side through thick and thin, making sure they both have the best memories together. He is a little camera shy but don’t let that fool you, Cooper is one of the most handsome daycare boys we have.

Ivy turns 4 Today!❤️

Ivy started on February 16th 2021💕! Ivy comes to daycare a couple times a month to see her friends 😊. Ivy’s besties include Zoey, Lily, Oscar, Remy and Eggo! Ivy enjoys all the pets she gets every time she comes to daycare and in return she tells us stories 😊.
