Advisory on Avian Influenza and Its Impact on Raw Fed Pets Consuming Poultry

With recent reports of avian influenza (H5N1) affecting poultry farms in Canada, Carnivora™ is committed to keeping our retailers and customers informed about the potential impact on raw-fed pets. As a trusted provider of raw pet food, we are monitoring the situation closely in collaboration with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).

The CFIA is actively working to manage and contain avian influenza outbreaks across affected regions, enforcing strict biosecurity measures and quarantines. While there is no evidence to suggest pets are at risk of contracting avian flu through raw poultry, there are precautions pet owners can take to ensure the continued health and safety of their animals.


Raw Poultry Safety -All Carnivora poultry products are sourced from CFIA-inspected facilities. We adhere to rigorous testing and handling protocols to ensure food safety.

Recommendations for Pet Owners:
Practice proper hygiene when handling raw poultry, including washing hands and disinfecting surfaces.

Avoid feeding raw poultry from unregulated or non-CFIA-approved sources.
If concerned, consider switching temporarily to non-poultry proteins until the situation stabilizes.
