🥚 Egg Update 🥚

🦜 Amazons Nelly and Quincey have 2 eggs- 1 is fertile.
🦜 Parrotletts (new names) Boston and Cream have 5 eggs- 3 are fertile.
🦜 Love-triangle Cockatiels Jelly, Bean and Lima have 4 eggs- all 4 are fertile.

👎🏻 To my surprise, Indian Ringnecks Dorito and Cheeto had 3 infertile eggs.

👎🏻 Green Cheek Conures Bobby and Ember have 5 eggs and none of them are fertile. (They’re young and still trying.)

👎🏻 Black Masked Lovebirds are staying in their nestbox for the majority of the day, but coming out to lay eggs while perching. So they’re not bringing me joy at the moment. 🤣

👍🏻 Indian Ringnecks Reese and Kitkat are working on another clutch.

So, we have a bit of a predicament in the cockatiel cage. 😬 Or perhaps the term “love-triangle” is more accurate... 📐💜

Miss Lima (white-faced cinnamon pearl) lives with 3 unrelated-to-her, boys: brothers Bean and Casper (white-faced) and sweet Jelly (yellow pied).

Last year, Lima and Bean had two clutches of love babies together, totalling four healthy girls. 🐣

A couple of months ago, I sectioned off the cockatiel’s double flight cage for Lima and Bean with a nest box in the bottom half and Jelly and Casper living happily up top. Bean and Lima were not interested in the nest box at all. So after a month or so, I took down the divider to let the four of them have free range of the entire double flight cage again.

Last week, I walked into the bird room to find JELLY and Lima participating in a baby-making activity. The day after, to my surprise, BEAN and Lima were also engaging in *the* activity. 😱 Since then, Lima has been uhhh… sharing her love… and alternating partners between Jelly and Bean. 😅

All this to say: Lima is laying on eggs. 🪺 Jelly and Bean are taking turns feeding her. Poor Casper is utterly confused and getting extra love from me. ❤️

I feel like this is an episode of Maury. 🙈

No violets this time for Reese and Kit-Kat’s babies! We have two blues, instead! 😍🩵

🪺 Nest News 🪺

🦜 Dorito and Cheeto (Indian Ringneck Parrots) are currently on 3 eggs. (This will be their last clutch this year.)

🦜 Snot and Bo**er (Parrotletts) are currently on 4 eggs. (This is their first time, so not sure what to expect yet.)

🦜 Taquito and Burrito (Black Masked Lovebirds) are laying eggs… but not in their nest box. 🤦🏼‍♀️ lol

-Reese & Kitkat and Coconut & Custard (Indian Ringneck Parrots) are thinking about having another clutch. We will see what happens. 😊

-Cockatiels are also set up and mating.

🦜Currently our Yellow Crowned Amazons have laid 2 eggs! 🥚🥚
I will check by Sunday to see if they’re fertile. Nelly and Quincey haven’t let me down so far! 🤞🏼

I pulled Reese and Kit-Kat’s two Indian Ringneck babies from the nest today to start handfeeding. They were hatched on January 13th and January 14th, 2025. Looking forward to watching them grow over the next few months. ❤️

2 more babies went home today. ❤️ Which leaves only one sweet, white Albino Indian Ringneck girl looking for her forever family. 🦜

I have had so much fun and many laughs raising these babies. Thank you to all of the families who chose to bring one of these birds into your homes. I hope the love I poured into them is evident and shared from them back to you. ❤️

⭐️ Adopted ⭐️
This beautiful baby girl Albino Indian Ringneck is still looking for her forever family. (PBA 20 NB 24)
She should be ready to go home this coming weekend. (January 18/19, 2025).

She is eating Tropican Lifetime pellets, mixed veggies and unsalted nuts. Her favorite treats so far are unshelled/unsalted sunflower seeds and Nutriberries.

She is a sweet baby who knows how to “step up” and “step off”, and likes to just hang out on or next to you.

Baby Elsa (PBA 17 NB 24) went to her new home in Nova Scotia with Morgan, a couple of days ago. She is doing amazing and has already warmed up to her future boyfriend. ❤️

Baby Indian Ringneck Parrots have been doing amazing eating on their own all week! So proud of them! ❤️ Everybirdie is on track to be able to go home this coming weekend! 🏡
