Rosebull NB WildWest FL

Rosebull NB WildWest FL American Bulldog Kennel established 1998 Puppies cannot be delivered into the USA until they are 6 months now. The proverbial disease /condition stops here.

We breed American Bulldogs, we have a new kennel partnership with Teri West in Sarasota FL, some of the pups will be born in the USA and some will be born in Canada depending on our waiting list. We encourage you to fill out a puppy questionnaire early so we can make appropriate plans. Our puppies are raised in the house with lots of love and handling to build the human canine bond, they are slowl

y exposed to different people, pets, noises, smells in order to desensitize them. WE make sure they have lots and lots of successes as they develop to build their self confidence. We start house training very early to get them used to pottying away from their sleeping area. We keep them with their Dam for as long as possible so they continue to benefit from her immunity and lessons. The parents of our puppies are tested for the common AB diseases and conditions. We started breeding, showing, judging, hosting, registering American bulldogs in 1998, we have seen thousands of American bulldogs in the flesh, put our hands on them, felt their muscle tone, evaluated their conformation and temperaments. We are the real deal AB experts, experienced and passionate about making sure our puppy families are supported before, during and after their experience with our kennel. We are here to stay, rest assured we can help you solve any problem you bump into when it comes to puppies from our kennel. We also own and run the American Bulldog Registry & Archives and The American Bulldog page and group on FaceBook. Our email address is [email protected]. The puppy questionnaire is located here: www.rosebull.com/puppy-buyer-questionnaire/ We'll match your family dynamics with the appropriate puppy.

15-Month Training Check-In!

Wow, time flies—your English Mastiff puppy is now 15 months old! At this stage, they should be well on their way to becoming calm, confident and well-mannered. But just like with any large breed, consistent training and reinforcement are key to ensuring they grow into a well-balanced adult.

Here’s what your big puppy should ideally know by now:

Basic Obedience – They should reliably respond to sit, stay, down, come, and leave it in different environments. If they’re still selective in listening, practice with high-value rewards! We like to use liver treats!

Loose Leash Walking– By now, they should be walking nicely on a leash, but occasional pulling can still happen, especially with distractions. Keep reinforcing good leash manners—it’s a must for a dog of this size! We find the slip lead works well for us and really helps with any pulling.

Impulse Control – Your pup should be learning patience. Waiting at doors, not rushing to food, and greeting people calmly are all great signs of progress!

Socialization & Confidence – At this age, they should be much more comfortable in new environments and with different people and dogs. If they show hesitation or reactivity, go back to slow, positive exposures.

Household Manners – No more excessive jumping,
chewing, or counter surfing (we hope!). If any of these behaviors linger, stay consistent with redirection and training.

Reliable Recall – Coming when called is a lifesaver—literally. If your recall still needs work, keep practicing in low-distraction areas before expecting success in high-energy situations.

Remember, every dog learns at their own pace, and some Mastiffs are stubborn by nature! If your pup is still working on any of these areas, don’t stress—just stay patient, consistent, and keep it positive... they'll get there! 🥰

Let us know below—what training successes (or struggles) are you seeing at 15 months? Let’s celebrate progress and troubleshoot challenges together! 🐾

Skunk Alert!

A Friendly PSA:

February through early March marks skunk breeding season! Before letting your dogs outside, make some noise to give skunks a chance to move along—no one wants an unexpected surprise.

Skunk Etiquette 101

If you cross paths with a skunk, stay calm and speak softly. Skunks have poor eyesight and don’t want to spray unless they feel threatened. If a skunk is feeling uneasy, it will give you some clear warning signs:
1. Stomping its front feet
2. Turning its back to you
3. Doing a handstand (yes, really!)
4. Spraying—up to 10 feet away!

Uh-oh… Got Sprayed? Here’s What to Do:
1. Catch the dog (or unlucky human) ASAP—don’t let them roll on anything!
2. If possible, wear rubber gloves and blot the spray off with paper towels.
3. Mix the following de-skunking paste (don’t add water!):
• 1 teaspoon Dawn dish soap
• 3% hydrogen peroxide
• ¼ cup baking soda (Skip the baking soda for human skin—it’s too abrasive.)
4. Apply the paste, let it sit for 10 minutes, rinse, and repeat if needed.

Fun Skunk Facts

Skunks are omnivores and love munching on insects like grasshoppers, beetles, and crickets. They also eat grubs, bees, wasps, small rodents, bird eggs, and even berries. In cities, they’ll scavenge pet food or garbage left outside.

Skunk-Proofing Your Yard
• Secure trash cans and close dumpster lids at night.
• Keep pet food indoors after dark.
• Control rodent populations and lawn grubs.
• Remove brush and wood piles—prime skunk real estate!

A little prevention goes a long way in keeping the peace between you, your pets, and these misunderstood (but very fragrant) little critters!
