Tunnel Vision's final trial of 2024 is complete! We had perfect autumn weather for a lovely evening of agility. Thank you to everyone for your support - to the competitors and their friends/family who helped volunteer, our non-competitor volunteers who did so awesome, and to the agility community for supporting us this year. It was so awesome to have so many beginners on the field last night; I cannot wait to see you on the field again next year!

Thank you to Julia Khoury, who is the absolute best co-host, teammate, and really stepped up this season while I was judging. Everyone needs a Julia 💜. On behalf of Julia and myself, this season has been about recentering, reconnecting, finding a new normal, and growing. Your support is so deeply appreciated. The agility community has been a soft place to land, and we are so grateful.

Both of our trials this year were in support of my UKI Agility judging mentorship. Thank you to the competitors for allowing me to learn. Thank you endlessly to Joe Boudreau for being an outstanding mentor. You push me to be confident and your view of the course, safety, the dog's line, the handler's line... It's a privilege to mentor under such an inspiration. 🫶🏻

Last but not least; special shoutout to my father, my Pops, the Tunnel Vision Dad, for really stepping up to do many of things I wasn't capable of doing this season. Mowing, moving equipment, maintenance/repair, being there to run for things I have forgotten (TBI short-term memory issues are so real), volunteering/crewing/course building at every trial, and doing it all with a smile! Love you Pops 💙

Much love from my agility family to yours.

See you in 2025! ✌️

but until then... stay tuned for some very exciting announcements.... 🤩

📣 Call for Volunteers 📣 for the October 4, 2024 UKI Agility Trial 🐾

Volunteers play a very important role in the Agility Trial experience. Trials can't happen without volunteers! Non-competitor volunteers are so very appreciated by the competitors, as it allows them more time to warm-up, cool-down, and celebrate with their dogs between runs rather than hustling to return quickly to volunteer.

Your volunteer roles will be explained to you in advance to ensure you have a good experience! Volunteers often have some of the best seats in the house 👀

If you are interested in volunteering, please click the "Volunteer Application" form available at: https://www.dreamteamcaninecoaching.com/tunnelvision-2024events

Cant wait to see you all soon!

Our first UK Agility International Beginner/Novice-only trial ✅ We had 33 dogs participate and 19 required measurement; that is a lot of debuts! 🤩 Congratulations to everyone who came and participated in the event. There was a true Beginner/Novice vibe; one where you are welcome to ask questions, where things are explained to you, where there is no rush. It is tough to be a Beginner; you are not only learning agility skills, but you are learning how a trial operates, how to put the pieces together in one attempt, how to think through your nerves… Agility is so much more than the titles and ribbons; it’s learning what it takes to step to the line as a team.

I also was a “beginner” at this trial as this was my first Mentoring Judge assignment, under Joe Boudreau . Joe’s courses were fun, flowing, yet still had level-appropriate challenges; designing separate courses for beginner and novice competitors. He also designed with me in mind, as this was my first “in the ring” judging experience. Joe, fantastic! You are truly brilliant and I cannot wait to continue learning and growing as a UKI Judge under your mentorship. A special thank you to all competitors for their patience throughout the event as I did my own “learning”. I really appreciate you all! I had the best seat in the house and I have to say… judging is pretty awesome!!

Thank you to my other half, Julia Khoury, and to Aaron Froude for playing Trial Manager/Hosts while I played Judge & Host. Thank you to my students who came early to help setup and who took on extra volunteer roles to keep the event running smoothly (and also gave their coach a pep talk because I was nervous too😂). Extra shoutout to our several non-competitor volunteers who graciously spent their time with us. Your help makes such a difference to the competitors and their dogs, ensuring enough time to cool down, celebrate, and have some fun.

Congratulations to everyone for your successes and for what you will take away as “homework notes”. You always get to take home the top dog in the venue ⭐️ I hope you each feel inspired to continue on in your agility journey.
