In honor of Black History Month we would like to shine some light on Dr. William Key.
Early in the twentieth century, Dr. William Key, a veterinarian and formerly enslaved person, spearheaded a movement in animal welfare, Dr. Key advocated for kindness and compassion for all animals. Dr. Key trained his horse with his philosophy — using patience and kindness rather than force and they built an incredible bond. Dr. Key and his talented horse toured America for nine years, showcasing the power of gentle patience and empathy towards animals.
Dr. Key was ahead of his time and he and Beautiful Jim Key were undoubtedly one of the foundations of the animal welfare movement that continues to this day.

On Remembrance Day, we pay tribute not only to the brave men and women who served our country, but also to the service animals who stood alongside them providing comfort, protection and companionship in times of need.

October is RVT Appreciation month when we take time out to thank our veterinary technicians for the incredible work they do each and every day. Vet techs are the backbone of every vet clinic and hospital and without them we would be lost in a sea of lab results, patient charts and pharmacy requests! They are truly the glue that holds every practice together. Their hard work, dedication and expertise make sure that every patient gets the best medical care, while they juggle multiple tasks behind the scenes with skill and precision. From keeping appointments running smoothly to staying late to ensure everything is ready for tomorrow's surgeries, we rely on our vet techs to keep everything running on track. Thank you RVT's for all you do for FAH, our patients and our clients.
