This year we were invited to the fur and feather show! I entered 6 birds and learned a lot from the judges :) Penny,Dainty,Heath, and Anise got 1st place in their classes, Truffle got 2nd, and snow got 3rd!
Anise won Jr champion pigeon as well!

Friendly reminder that we do NOT hold birds without a deposit! Multiple birds have been spoken for and then the adoptee goes ghost and the bird is not picked up, if something pops up and your mind changes/ you need more time, tell us!

Something to keep in mind this summer if you enjoy feeding the birds

Bread doesn't have much nutritional value and fills the birds stomachs so that they can't forage for foods they would naturally eat, which can lead to malnutrition.

ANGEL WING: " is a condition that affects mostly waterfowl, caused by a nutritional deficiency in vitamins and minerals combined with a high level of carbohydrates and sugars. While a number of factors are involved, human-fed bread is one of the probable causes."

BETTER FOODS are: cracked corn, bird seed, mealworms fresh or dried, and many fruits and vegetables are safe and nutritious as well!

70🦌 born april 8th 2024 :) we called her sol, she will eat treats from your hand and is comfortable with being handled. Must go to a PET home. Pm for more info! Were always open to help educate new bird owners!

People will often ask me what is a suitable home for their pigeons, it all really comes down to how many you have and how social they are, as well as how often youll be willing to let them stretch their wings!

best material to use for aviaries is 1/4 inch hardware cloth it is the only truely predator proof wire!

2 RND eggs have been laid but are also infertile and will not be hatching. ( they will be given a second chance ) :)

Not sure if pigeons are right for you? Having a bad day and think some fluffy birdies will help? Come meet the birds while supporting a good cause, Food! I will be availible most weekends and some weekdays ! Please send a pm and i will get back to you asap
( if you think your child is incapable of holding the birds or could possibly be too rough please give me a heads up beforehand to keep everybody safe and happy! ) Bobby And Lief will also be out and about and are happy to socialize and take treats from you! They are both roosters but never grew spurs and have always been the sweetest boys 🌷

👦 Children 4-12. 8$ 1 hour visit + feeding treats + optional to hold birds :)

👩‍🦱 Adults 13-65+ 10$ 1 hour visit + optional care basics walkthrough + bird visits :)

Price is automatically free if you bring in a bird toy of any kind / millet / cracked corn / grains / pine shavings / straw / ect !( The birdies really appreciate this )

If you have any special requests please let me know in advance!
( IF YOU HAVE BIRDS OF YOUR OWN WE ASK THAT YOU WEAR SHOES THAT HAVE NOT CAME IN CONTACT WITH THEM / WASH + SANITIZE YOUR SHOES. )
^ we have multiple reasons for this and our main one is biosecurity. If you track in an illness it can affect our whole flock very very negatively

Reminder that baby birds + unsocial birds will not be disturbed during visits, and that this is a HIGH DUST environment as birds make tons of dust so if that may be an issue opt to wear a mask of some sort please and thank you! 🌱🕊

* the birds CAN bite or p**p on you. As much as we like to avoid these 2 things they do happen and quite frequently! The bites dont hurt or draw blood and the p**p doesnt stain * sorry in advance if this happens 😅 ill help you out

Why get a pigeon? I want a parrot?

There are a few reasons I would advise against getting a parrot! , do you like quiet time at all? Do you like having things not destroyed? Do you like having money? Do you like being able to travel? Do you hate cleaning all the time? Do you not like long term committments? Do you hate being bitten?

If you answered yes to any of these Then DONT get a parrot. Maybe instead opt for an indoor pigeon or dove 🩷 pigeons average lifespan is 15 years, with many surviving past age 30 years in captivity and ringneck doves have an average lifespan of about 10 to 15 years they eat mainly grains and are less picky than parrots. Pigeons can be kept in pairs or large flocks Feeding 2 pigeons costed me about 5$ a month! 1 small parrot was 40 ish a month to take care of and we love riku 💫🩷 but nobody should ever adopt any pet unless you are 100% ready to drop your entire life for them
