With summer festivities kicking off, we want to remind you about the symptoms of heatstroke and prevention tips:

🚗Never leave your pet unattended in a car

☀️When hot/humid, keep your pet’s time outdoors limited

💦Keep your pet hydrated

🌬️Ensure your pet has ventilation and a cool environment

➡️Dogs with short noses are at higher risk due to their condensed facial anatomy and restricted ability to cool themselves

Everybody meet Donnie! 🐾 Donnie came into us as a stray from the Fredericton SPCA. He presented with a significant wound on his back, most likely due to a bite from another animal. After many surgeries to close the wound, and months of recovery he is a happy lovey boy who loves belly rubs! Donnie has a disease called FIV which is means that his immune system is compromised, and makes it more difficult to heal. Due to his illness he would do better in a home that has no other cats. He has become best friends with one of our staff dogs, so we believe he would warm up to dogs if given the time. With lots of attention and lots of love he became one of the best boys we’ve ever met. If you are interested in meeting him, please let us know and we can set up a time for you to come in! ⭐️ We would like to thank everybody who has donated to our orphaned fund; because of you we are able to help animals like Donnie! ***more photos in the comments! ***
