We are so happy and proud to be able to call one of our newest team members an official Registered Veterinary Technician!!
Congrats Brooklynn- all your hard work has paid off!

Did you know that becoming a RVT not only consists of going to school for 2 years, successfully completing many difficult skills, and completing a work term, but also you need to write the Veterinary Technician National Examination.
Their learning is never over either! Every two years RVTs are required complete 30 hours of continuing education - learning from board certified professionals, or Veterinary Technician Specialists.
RVTs are registered with the NBVMA (New Brunswick Veterinary Medical Association) and are held to high standards!

We can now say that all of our technicians at Royal Road are RVTs! So you know your pet is cared for by the best!

Last week one of our vets, Dr. Peck and our manager and technician Aly travelled with a group of 7 other people to spay and neuter cats and dogs in Aruba.
They successfully completed 198 surgeries in 4 days!
That was 116 cats and 82 dogs that are going to live a better life with parasite prevention, and not constantly having more litters.
They worked directly with Animal Welfare Alliance Aruba who helps out low income families as well as trapping wild/roaming dogs/cats.

They also had some days to travel around Aruba, have some beach days, watch some beautiful sunsets, and Aly even climbed 591 stairs up an inactive volcano!
