Today and for most of this week at least, we will be enduring a HEAT WAVE 🥵
During this time, it is very important to follow some very important pet safety.
Walk your dogs in the very early morning or very late evening, when it isn't as HOT.
Make sure your pets are inside during the hottest times with fresh, cold water.
Even though our dogs loves to travel with us, please keep them home and away from the dangers of a hot car.
Be aware of the signs of a heat stroke. Animals are more susceptible for this then us humans are.
Brachycephalic breeds (flat-faced pups) and senior pets will have more problems with heat than the younger ones.

FYI, with Summer around the corner and BBQ season comes Corn on the Cob Season 🌽. People ❤️🌽, however, so do 🐕🐩🐕🐩. They cannot digest the cob and often times it can cause blockages that can be life threatening. Please keep this in mind and dispose of the cob away from dogs.

🐾💕Happy Veterinary Receptionists Week💕🐾
Last but not least, the C of Gander Veterinary Clinic 's receptionists, Candace.
Candace started at the clinic in 2005. She worked for many, many moons as a Veterinary Assistant/tech before deciding to scale back her hands-on with animals, in the last couple of years, and took on the role of Veterinary Receptionist. Her love for her coworkers and furry animals is quite evident. She shares her life with family and friends along with 3 🐕🐕🐕 and 3 🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛. The dogs include 14 year old Louie, the Labrador; 5 year old Chihuahua, Mac; and the newest addition, 21 month old Labrador, Franny. The cats are all big, handsome boys: 13 year old George, and 4 year olds Simon and Clyde.
On her off time, she is an avid reader, a cheerleader for her son's GC highschool 🏀 team and wines down at the 🏡
