On Tuesday, Avion had its annual reading of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol in support of the local food bank. And boy did our community show up for support!

We collected a cartload of groceries and $150. Thanks to all who came to the show. And thanks to the Gander International Airport and The Globe Theatre for their help in spreading the Christmas cheer!

Just a heads up that last year's recording of "A Christmas Carol" will be replayed again during this Christmas season on Local ROGERStv Channel 9 and at www.rogerstv.com/gander

As of now it is scheduled for:

Dec. 26 @ 6:00pm

Hopefully it will also air a few times next week!

We're back!!!

Join us for our first show on stage this year as Avion Players Present Love, Loss, And What I Wore - by Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron, based on the book by Ilene Beckerman.

The show explores the lives of women through stories and clothing worn at pivotal times in their lives.

Starring Michele Dove, Jeanne Collins, Megan Canning, Deana Stagg, Lynn Sooley, and Margaret Drake.

On stage Oct 21 at Joseph R. Smallwood Arts and Culture Centre. Tickets available at the box office now.

This past week our Avion family had to say goodbye to one of our own. Elizabeth "Betty" Ireland was a huge part of the Avion Players for decades. She selflessly gave her time and heart to our organization and the provincial theatre scene. Without her contributions we would not be where we are today.

To quote Percy Farwell "We mourn and celebrate our matriarch. Community theatre in Newfoundland and Labrador has lost one of its staunchest and most constant supporters. Thankfully, I am certain her life was equally enriched by her involvement in community theatre."

She will be missed by all. Thank you Betty. Bravo!!!
