We are again receiving complaints about the amount of dog p**p not being picked up in the park. Just a reminder, the park is monitored and maintained by VOLUNTEERS. It is not their responsibility to pickup after complacent dog owners. A lot of hard work goes into establishing the parks by the volunteers and it is disappointing to see people abusing the open space our dogs have come to enjoy. The volunteers have arranged to supply p**p bags at all our parks in case you forget to bring yours or fido happens to p**p more than once. TSP also has a p**p recycling program “Sutera” just outside the gate. Picking up and leaving it on a bench, table or fence is happening far too often. Please, do your part in keeping the park clean and p**p free.

Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus, right down Trafalgar Road. Yup, Santa is coming to see his furry friends at the leash-free park, 11494 Trafalgar Rd, on Saturday November 26th from 11AM until 2PM. Pictures with Santa will be available for $10 per photo. Its that time of year, the Town has advised us that the fountain at TSP is going to be shut off this week for the season. This is being done to prevent damage during the cooler temperatures and over winter.

N O T I C E

Thank you for all the emails and calls regarding the leaking fountain here in the park.

I know it has been leaking for some time, we have addressed the issue with Town staff on multiple occasions and they are working on repairing the problem. There is a part inside the unit that needs to be replaced. It has been ordered.

We have also been made aware that the lights have not been coming on in the morning or evening. The Town is looking into that and hopefully they will be back on again tonight.

Save the date for Saturday June 4 when Mayor Bonnette and the Town of Halton Hills will host a fun family event to officially open the Trafalgar Sports Park Leash Free Park. We'll have an ice cream truck, dog agility display by Sit Happens Dog Training, and a special visit from your favourite pups Chase, Skye and Rubble from the Paw Patrol! Starting Tuesday May 10, the park will start having the grounds serviced (grass cut and maintained) for the season. Town staff will be closing the park for maintenance Tuesdays between 9am-11am. There is signage posted at the park as well.

Attention TSP Park Users

Text reads:

TEMPORARY PARK RESTRICTIONS

We have been in contact with the Town regarding the surface cover at Trafalgar Sports Park.

With the heavy usage in the fall while the grass was not fully established and the unusual winter conditions including thaw, freeze, thaw cycles, the grass has taken a lot of abuse and is in danger of not re-establishing now that the spring has arrived.

Our contacts at the Town have evaluated the situation and determined the best way to ensure the grass has a chance to re-establish is to fence off a portion of the park to hydro-seed which will help promote new growth. The fences will be installed in the next few days and we hope everyone will respect the restrictions.

Fencing off an area will allow us to monitor the growth and hopefully be repaired in time for our Grand Opening on June 4th.

We are sorry this is short notice but due to the urgency of the problem, we must act quickly in order for this plan to succeed.
