Have you done a tick check on your pets ately? 👀 🔍
Even during winter, it’s important to keep checking. Backlegged ticks in the
adult stage can be active on mild winter days - even if snow is still on the
ground. 📆❄
Ticks are likely to attach themselves in warm areas on your pet like their
ears, belly, groin and under their colar. 🐾🐱🐶 You can learn more about
protecting you and your pets from ticks at ticktalkcanada.com and by
talking to your vet about tick prevention options.

Ticks
It may no longer be fall... but this video still does apply, as we saw for the past 2 days we were above 4 degrees, so those pesky Ticks were out and active! If you do go for hikes, walk along a lot of brush, tall grass, near wooded areas, please keep your pets and yourselves safe with Tick protection for your pet. Just because it has snowed doesn't mean they are gone... they are laying low until those days that we get those warmer temperatures, or even hiding in warmth in the leaves even though it's 1 degree. Call or stop in to ask for more details.
It's a misconception that because it's cold at night, cooler out now in the day, ticks are done. With the temperatures still fluctuating Ticks are the worst right now compared to July and August. Be prepared and keep your pet protected until temperatures stay cold.
Ticks are active in the fall. Whenever the
temperature is over 4°C your dog could run
into a questing tick. Ask your veterinarian for
a #TickControl medication that will help keep
your dog protected into the cool fall months.
TICKS ARE ACTIVE IN THE FALL: Blacklegged ticks can be found in fall leaves.
Make sure your dog is on #TickControl
medication this fall to remain protected from
September to November. Blacklegged ticks
are the ticks associated with #LymeDisease.
A picture/video is worth a thousand words. This dog's owner took a video of him to better explain his condition. The video aided in reaching a diagnosis.
