The Reactive Dog Revamp! Read more ⬇️

The reactive dog revamp program has been curated for guardians and their dogs to feel safe and make progress in their reactivity journey.

This is a more cost effective way to work with us through these behaviors!

WHEN: Saturdays, starting June 8 x 4 weeks

4 dogs per class, lots of space and I will provide visual barriers for dogs who may need it!

Initial class via zoom, 2 in person classes, one group parallel walk.

What we will be working on:

- assessing body language
- management and behaviour modification strategies
- enrichment
- desensitization in a group setting

$185+GST

Puppy Classes 📢

4 week puppy classes for puppies 8-20weeks of age, must have first set of vaccinations.

We will work on leash skills, positive socialisation, enrichment, body language, puppy biting and more!

When: Thursday evenings for 4 weeks starting on May 23rd

Time: 5:30pm - 6:30pm

Where: Roberts Creek, BC

Price: $185 for a four class package

- Ability to Walk/Hike 2-4 hours per day
- Comfortable walking 1-4 dogs at a time
- Basic understanding of dog body language
- Basic understanding of R+ training, handling & equipment

Harley is my 5 year old boy and together we partake in agility, rally-o, and disc! I am a huge advocate for fear free training as it has helped me tremendously with my dog and his reactivity!

Along with Harley I have had experience caring and handling over 10 different species of pets including reptiles, fish, amphibians, and other small animals!

What's an aversive?

An aversive is causing strong dislike, discomfort or disinclination. Adding an aversive decreases* a behavior.

The learner (dog) decides what's aversive, they can be intentional by the handler or naturally occurring in their environment.

Some common intentional aversives are: choke chain, slip lead, e-collar, prong collar, spray bottle, leash pops, yelling, hitting.

Why don't we use aversives?

1. Aversives suppress behaviour/emotions, it's important to know how your dog is feeling

2. It doesn't show them what to do instead

3. When the aversive occurs your dog can associate it with other things/beings in their environment

4. It damages your relationship with your dog

5. ALL animals learn the same, force and aversives are not needed

Some of many commonly misinterpreted dog body language signals.

Lip licking, yawning, and panting. All of which can indicate a certain level of stress your dog is feeling.

Of course, it's important to look at the dog as a whole and the situation they are in at that moment.

Anyone who works with your dog should understand what these signals mean and what to look for if your dog is feeling stressed or uncomfortable.

We strive to keep your dogs' environment as stress free as possible 🐾

Puppies 8-14 weeks are welcome to join for 3 group classes, there are 4 spots available! All puppies must have their first set of vaccines.

We will be working on a variety of skills like leash walking, socialization, basic cues, house training, and ultimately setting you and your pup if for success!

3 Class Package: $120 + GST
