2012 Grulla Frame/Tobiano/w20 Mare standing 14.3hh
Clover is a mare being offered in our dispersal sale due to us leaning into the reining side of our breeding program. I will start with this mare herself- she has been off having babies for 3 years, but let me tell you about prior to this. Clover was owned by one person for the first ten years of her life and had consistent regular training and riding for her adult life. She was very lightly started at 2.5 years old, and out out to pasture to finish growing. She went for 60 days every spring consistently as a 3, 4, 5 and 6 year old, just to keep her tuned up. She had hundreds upon hundreds of trail riding miles in between all this. She was taken camping in spruce woods multiple times, she did Extreme Cowboy Racing and excelled. She was shown in Halter, western and English pleasure. This mare is smart and takes in anything you put in front of her. She leads, loads, ties and hauls with ease. She is a very easy keeper. She is forward to ride, but will slow down into that collected western pleasure jog or lope when asked. She is fearless and smooth, willing to tackle the job at hand. With a 30-60 day refresher, this mare would be back into a rock solid riding horse. Clover has had 3 foals to date, and has been an excellent mother. She breeds easily and foals unassisted.
Clover’s grandsire Dashin Duster was one of the greatest stallions in Manitoba of his time. Duster did anything and everything, and was one of the most level headed broke stallions out there. You would never know he was intact. Duster also graced the cover of Horse Country magazine.
Clover’s paternal grandsire, Little Peppy Jack, had a show record and NRHA earnings in the reining pen. His sire Dolls Union Jack, had a ROM in performance. He was sired by the infamous Hollywood Jac 86 who was a two time NRHA world champion, Top 10 World Show in reining, had a ROM in performance, and is in the NRHA hall of fame as a 1 million dollar sire. Clover’s maternal grandsire Ima Max gained his ROM in halter and was a halter champion and 3 time reserve halter champion. Clover is Blue Max bred, another infamous paint stallion who was an APHA Champion with 22 Halter points, 24 Western Pleasure points - ROM, 1 Grand Champion Halter point, 3 Reseve Champion Halter points, 5 trail points, 29 lifetime performance points. Blue Max has left his mark on the APHA. Siring multiple World and Reserve World Champions.
Now, onto the next part- Clover currently has a solid Grulla c**t at side sired by our champagne stallion Triple Jet Cee Jay. We imported Triple Jet Cee Jay in 2022 from the Netherlands, and this is his very first foal crop on North American soil!! CJ has been showing across Canada for the last year and a half, proving himself in reining and gaining an amazing show record for himself. He has natural born talent stemming back many generations of multi purpose, big soggy ranch horses! CJ’s sire, Jetsmoke N Thunder was a multi talented stallion and a proven show sire earning championships in Ranch Horse, Hunter Under Saddle, English Rail, and Western Trail. His sire, Bows Black Thunder, dominated in the team penning arenas with many earnings of his own. CJ’s grand sire, Pocos Gray Comet, received a ROM in reining, Reserve World Champion in cutting, NRHA reining champion, and fit in quite a few halter points along the way. This c**t will be a huge, thick boy and be able to go in any direction.
Clover will be pasture exposed back to our homozygous tobiano stallion Guaranteed in Writing for a 2025 foal. We crossed these two for her precious foal, and they gave us a huge, gorgeous and loud coloured black and white filly who was sold instantly. This stallion has a solid pedigree himself- Guaranteed In Writing, has proven himself over and over for many years in producing flashy, correct offspring no matter the cross. His pedigree boasts an excellent combination of ranch horses, halter horses, and running bred horses. The versatility this stallion produces is truly endless. His sire, Leo San Cita dominated the show pen and was an APHA Champion, earning many superiors including Superior Halter, Working Cowhorse, Steer Stopping, Reining, Heading and gaining a ROM in Heeling.
He was a 17 Time Grand Champion.
