A Lola (Eve) update šāØ
A testament of resilience, staying pawsitive and overcoming the odds. Lola came to our shelter on Christmas Eve after being rescued by a concerned family in Sandy Point. She was in very hard shape, skin over bone but purring and headbutting all of us. (Left side pictures when she first arrived) Luckily the vet was able to fit her in (on Christmas Eve!ā¤ļøš) and we were all horrified when her X-rays showed a pellet bullet lodged in her tiny body. Miraculously this tiny 5 pound cat had not only survived being shot, she had healed, all before being rescued. Lolaās last visit to the vet for recheck was a very positive one. Her bloodwork has levelled out, she passed the ābones and rocksā that were in her stomach on her own with consistent food and she is gaining weight steadily. At this time our vet (in consultation with surgeon) believe removing the bullet may do more harm than good. She is stable, happy and a true warrior!
Lola has the go ahead to be released to FSAR Feral Soul Animal Rescue who originally rescued her years ago. They say anyone interested in adopting her can head to their page to see updates and fill out an application. Happy ever after Lola aka our little Christmas Eve! šāØ
