Mel has come all the way from busy Montreal, where she did dog training and worked with thearapy dogs at the local schools. she ownes and operates “Jazz Paws Dog Training” as well has joined our team here helping with our short and long term boarding clients and rehabilitating our rescues. He was used as a breeder locked up in a pen away from other dogs most his life. He had nerve damage and muscle deterioration in his back end and tail area. He was to old to be adopted (7yrs) to get rid of him his old owners said he chased the neighbours and was severely aggressive.. no one would risk taking him in and adopting him out, he was even ordered for euthanasia … between his rescuer and my staff we decided that couldn’t happen! Red laser therapy, countless hours of training,therapy, supplements, and a hole lot of love …. he grew stronger both physically and mentally .. not a day went by that this beautiful old man didn’t show us his willingness to love and that he wanted to be loved! Eventually it was up to us to find him a home .. he was here since the beginning of June and sure enough on Christmas Eve a wonderful man named jason drove over 3hrs in a windy snow storm to come take this boy to his forever home 💕 a true miracle .. 🇨🇦

LGD (livestock guardian dogs) are apart of the herd! Their job is to protect the herd … not move the herd. Not a guard dog in the sense of personal protection. It’s so natural that they don’t need training to protect there family. Under the right circumstances any dog will bite, but this breed will do there job regardless if there herd is sheep , goats, cows, or people. Keep this in mind if you are thinking of adding one to your home in town or if you are the hostess with the mostess and you have a lot of people coming and going. Nature over nurture will always win! They need 2 things to be satisfied- a job and a leader. If you can not provide that please don’t get a “house polar bear” or “giant floppy eared ball of fur” cus
they are cute when 30lbs … but full grown they take on wild coyotes, wolves, mountain lions and any other animal or human THEY see as a threat. # do actual research on the breed your interested in.
