This poor sweetie showed up at a home at the far end of Riverside Drive in Grand Forks today. She is severely emaciated and matted! 😿
No tattoo or microchip, however she is super friendly and was definitely a pet at some point. Thank you so much to the couple who brought her in, as she would likely not have survived another night outside 😔.

This big handsome boy is Joffrey. He is one of the first kitties we took in from the Beaverdell colony way back in April. While Joffrey gets along just fine with his remaining colony mates here at the Shelter, we can tell he would very much like to have a human he could call his own 🩷.

🌟 As many of you know, we recently cleared out a large colony of cats from a property in Beaverdell. We are thrillled by how many happy homes we have found for some of these sweet souls so far, but we currently have 30 more of these adorable sweethearts looking for their very own furever homes! 😺 All the cats have been fixed, vaccinated, dewormed & microchipped. Some are already super friendly and loving, while some are still coming out of their shells, but are making fabulous progress thanks to the dedicated volunteers that work with them daily! 🙏🏻❤️
👀 We are looking for patient & caring adopters who can take one (or 2 or 3?) of these precious kitties into their heart & their home, and give them the safe, happy, healthy life that they so deserve! We've named this scruffy little man Chester 😺 Don't let his gruff appearance fool you, he is actually a very sweet boy just hoping for a second chance at a happy life! He LOVES his big cheeks scritched! We guesstimate him to be around 4yrs old. He's currently sharing a room with a few other kitties and doesn't seem to mind at all. He is a big fan of the catio, and will likely need a home where he can access the outdoors.

Although the turnout wasn't as great as we would have hoped for, we would like to thank all those that came to our Open House Event yesterday. With the sale of food, swag, and tour admission, we raised just over $500 for the rescue kitties! 😺🙏🏻🩷
We are sooo grateful to SAVE-ON FOODS & 3RD STREET BAKERY for supplying all the delicious food and treats! Thank you to Neil Krog for cooking up some tasty hotdogs for everyone, and to JJ Facepainting for brighting up the day! And a HUGE thank you to all the amazing volunteers that dedicate so much time, energy, (and even funds!) to help the rescue cats day in and day out! Commodore for adoption
If kitties could talk, we're sure this ol' boy would have quite the story to tell! 😼 He came in as an unfixed stray, and at approximately 10yrs old that is VERY old in outdoor cat years! He has since been neutered, and has received a clean bill of health from our vet. He is rapidly warming up to the attention & affection being offered by the volunteers, and is loving the comforts of the indoors and regularly scheduled meals! 😺
We have named him Commodore, and he doesn't seem to mind the other kitties in his room, and has even engaged in play with one of the younger boys. He occasionally gets "the grumps" and may swat or lightly bite to let you know he's done with attention for now, so he may not be a good fit with very young kids for this reason. We are unsure of how he feels about dogs. A calmer home environment would likely be the best fit for this sweet ol' timer 🩵
