This beautiful little lady is Kuri. She came to us with her adorable twin boys, but she is now spayed and ready to find her very own furever home where SHE can be the baby! 😸 We guesstimate her to be around 1.5yrs old, and she is very sweet and playful. As a female orange tabby she is also pretty unique, as orange cats are male 80% of the time! She has lived in harmony with other cats & dogs. ⭐️ It's days like today that really help us remember why we do what we do! ⭐️

We are sooooo thrilled to have been a part of reuniting Ginger the cat, missing since July 29th, with her family!!! 😺 A huge thank you to the folks that spotted Ginger hanging around a relatives home, and realizing she was likely a lost pet. Koodos to Gingers family for getting their precious girl microchipped, and with just one phone call, family & kitty are back together again!! 🩷🙏🏻😸

💚 ADOPTED! 💚
This sweet, husky boy is Jimmy. He was adopted from us as a kitten in March of 2023, but sadly the older female kitties in the house never accepted him. His adopters tried everything to help the kitties get along, but as Jimmy grew bigger, the relationship grew more strained for all involved 😿.

While heartbroken, Jimmy's owners realized he was in need of a new home, hopefully with another young kitty like himself that wanted a playmate! Jimmy is now almost 2yrs old, and has been indoor-only. He's a bit timid at first, but after 3 days at the Shelter he's becoming more confident and adventurous. He definitely likes toys and seems to want a feline friend to play with! 😸

As Jimmy has already been fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped, he is FREE to the right home! Contact us now is you'd like to meet him! 🩵

Meet 7-year-old Salem, a striking boy who resembles Batman, or should we say, ‘Batcat! When he’s not busy keeping the mouse population under control and exploring outside, he’ll happily find a cozy spot indoors around people to relax. He prefers using the outdoors as his litter box, meaning less litter box changes! He loves a cat door so that he can come and go as he pleases. Prepare to vocally hear about it if not ;)

As a smaller sized cat, other male cats and dogs sometimes intimidate him. He especially doesn't like being chased by other pets, but so long as they don't do that, and he has a chance to warm up to them, he can get along well with other critters. He would also do well as a solo pet so long as he has some regular man company.

He’s looking forward to being welcomed into your home and to find out what kind of cat treats you keep in stock :)

⭐️ Please note: baby kittens are not yet fixed when adopted. The $200 adoption fee DOES include the spay/neuter & microchipping, however the surgery must be performed here at our Grand Forks vet clinic, as this is where we get our discount. This means the kitten must return to GF between 4-6mths old (surgeries are scheduled at 8:30am, Monday-Friday only). Please only apply if you be able to accommodate this. ⭐️

This adorable boy is Toby. Sadly we believe this sweet kitty may be an abandoned pet 😓. He made himself known to a few neighbors in a local neighborhood, but no one was able to locate his actual owner.

So now we are looking for a loving furever home for this confident & friendly little guy! Toby will likely need to be an indoor/outdoor kitty. He seems to be fine with kids, as long as they respect his limits. He's showing interest in meeting other kitties at the Shelter, but he doesn't necessarily like them all! A proper introduction to current pets would be required.

As Toby came to us already fixed, his adoption fee is only $80 to cover his deworming, vaccinations, and microchipping 😺

🩷 ADOPTED! 🩷
These two little ladies met at the Shelter back in July and have since become best buddies! Morgana is a fluffy calico, approximately 2.5yrs old, and Clawdine is a sleek black cat approximately 1.5yrs old. Neither of these gals have shown much interest in human companionship unfortunately, and they much prefer to hang out in the catio all day dreaming of mouse hunting. While they are petable, they will likely not be snuggly house cats. That being said, they do not fit the "Barn Cat" designation either, as they both quite appreciate a warm, fluffy indoor bed 😸.

So, we're looking for an adopter who requires an indoor/outdoor mouser (×2), and does not mind an independent cat that may or may not want affection. There must be someone out there willing to give these gals a home? They must be adopted as a pair, and as such we're offering 2 for 1 on the adoption fee! Both gals have been spayed, vaccinated, dewormed & microchipped.

⚠️⚠️ TO THE PERSON THAT RELEASED A CAT FROM OUR LIVE-TRAP ⚠️⚠️
We are working on catching a small colony that is residing at the old Unifab building on 2nd street. These cats will be fixed, vaccinated, & dewormed, and will spend time at the Shelter getting socialized so we can ultimately find them all loving homes.

PLEASE refrain from interfering with the trapping, unless you plan on providing all aforementioned services to the remaining cats! The first eight we've caught all have roundworms, which means the rest of the colony will as well and they need treatment!!

Should anyone have any concern as to what is happening with these cats, you're more than welcome to book an appointment to come visit the Shelter and see how we operate. Thank you.

⭐️ These two beautiful sisters are Dallas & Dakota. They are approximately 6mths old and are a siamese mix breed. They both have beautiful blue eyes and are practically twins! 🩵

These sweet gals are still somewhat insecure, and they will require an adopter with the time and patience to continue working with them and building their confidence & trust 🩷 We feel a calm living environment with no young children or other rambunctious pets would be best for these gals.

We're offering a discounted adoption rate of $300 for the 2 girls, and they have been spayed, vaccinated, dewormed & microchipped. Please contact us asap if you feel you can provide a loving furever home for these special kitties 🐾

📣 We are in need of a few more responsible & motivated volunteers, mainly for our Evening Shift (5-7pm). This shift involves feeding dinner to approximately 20-30 kitties, as well as some p**p scooping and general tidying. 😺

We also ask that you spend time engaging with the kitties as much as possible! Socialized shy kitties is a HUGE part of volunteering, to help get the rescues confident and ready for adoption 😸🩷

This handsome 'house panther' is Disney! He's just under 1yr old and he LOVES attention and cheek scritches! 😸 He's playful and sweet, good with other kitties, and used to being indoor/outdoor. He has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed & earmite treatment, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $175. Please contact us now to meet Disney, or any of our other wonderful rescue cats! ❤️🐾

🌟 As many of you know, we recently cleared out a large colony of cats from a property in Beaverdell. We are thrillled by how many happy homes we have found for some of these sweet souls so far, but we currently have 30 more of these adorable sweethearts looking for their very own furever homes! 😺 All the cats have been fixed, vaccinated, dewormed & microchipped. Some are already super friendly and loving, while some are still coming out of their shells, but are making fabulous progress thanks to the dedicated volunteers that work with them daily! 🙏🏻❤️ 👀 We are looking for patient & caring adopters who can take one (or 2 or 3?) of these precious kitties into their heart & their home, and give them the safe, happy, healthy life that they so deserve! He is a big fan of the catio, and will likely need a home where he can access the outdoors. Although the turnout wasn't as great as we would have hoped for, we would like to thank all those that came to our Open House Event yesterday. With the sale of food, swag, and tour admission, we raised just over $500 for the rescue kitties! 😺🙏🏻🩷 We are sooo grateful to SAVE-ON FOODS & 3RD STREET BAKERY for supplying all the delicious food and treats! Thank you to Neil Krog for cooking up some tasty hotdogs for everyone, and to JJ Facepainting for brighting up the day! And a HUGE thank you to all the amazing volunteers that dedicate so much time, energy, (and even funds!) to help the rescue cats day in and day out! None of this would be possible without this incredible team! 🙏🏻🩷🎉

Commodore for adoption

If kitties could talk, we're sure this ol' boy would have quite the story to tell! 😼 He came in as an unfixed stray, and at approximately 10yrs old that is VERY old in outdoor cat years! He has since been neutered, and has received a clean bill of health from our vet. He is rapidly warming up to the attention & affection being offered by the volunteers, and is loving the comforts of the indoors and regularly scheduled meals! 😺 We have named him Commodore, and he doesn't seem to mind the other kitties in his room, and has even engaged in play with one of the younger boys. He occasionally gets "the grumps" and may swat or lightly bite to let you know he's done with attention for now, so he may not be a good fit with very young kids for this reason. We are unsure of how he feels about dogs. A calmer home environment would likely be the best fit for this sweet ol' timer 🩵 If you would like to met Commodore, or any of our other wonderful rescues, please contact us asap!

This pretty little lady is Sephora. She's a sweet, sassy diva who likes ALL attention on her! She's not a huge fan of other cats, and we're not sure how she is with dogs. She does seem just fine with young children though! 😸 She appears to really enjoy the outdoors, so she will likely need to be an indoor/outdoor kitty, or better yet, have her very own catio! If you would like to meet this little beauty, or any of our wonderful rescue kitties, please contact us now! 🐾

🩷 ADOPTED! 🩷 🐾 This pretty gal is Charlie, and like a few of our recent surrenders, Charlie's senior owner can no longer care for her due to health issues 😓. Charlie is approximately 5yrs old and she is a sweet, healthy, indoor kitty. She has lived with dogs in the past, however she does not have experience with other cats or small children. A calm home environment with someone that enjoys occasional kitty cuddles would be best for this gal! As this is a rehoming, there is no adoption fee for Miss Charlie, however a donation to the organization is always appreciated 😸🙏🏻 Please contact us asap if you are interested in giving this pretty kitty a new home! 🩷

💙 ADOPTED! 💙 No one has claimed this sweet little guy, so we have treated him for worms & ticks, got him microchipped, and named him Happy! It is a very fitting name, as he is such a sweet, jovial, loving kitty! He loves to cuddle, loves to play, and is just an all-aound HAPPY boy! 😸 He's under a year old, is fine with the other cats in the Shelter, and though we haven't seen him around young kids or dogs, his chill demeanor indicates he will likely have no problem with either! As he came to us already neutered, we are asking only $75 adoption fee, to help offset the cost of his medical treatment.
