🦴🦴PennHIP & OFA Health Testing! 🦴🦴
Did you know our clinic offers pre-breeding health clearances such as PennHIP and OFA? Well, we do!

These tests are important for breeding dogs, assuring that breeders make the best possible pairings to maximise the health of the offspring produced.



A little about Pennhip Studies:

PennHIP is an effective method of hip x-raying to estimate the risk for osteoarthritis and hip dysplasia. All dogs can benefit from PennHIP testing:

-For pet dogs found to be at risk to develop hip osteoarthritis, early intervention can help prevent or lessen the severity of hip dysplasia.

-For working/service dogs, identifying a dog with healthy hips can extend the working life of the dog.

-For breeding dogs, early detection of at-risk hips can allow the breeder to make early, informed decisions as to which dogs to keep in breeding programs.

Over the next month, you might have the wonderful opportunity to meet Rebecca Vavrek! 🎓 Rebecca is on the brink of graduating from the University of Calgary with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, and she's joining us as part of her final year rotation. 🌟 We're excited to be part of the Distributed Veterinary Learning Community (DVLC), and Rebecca is the second student we've had the pleasure of hosting—with many more to come!
