I am proud to be a second generation Peace Country Beekeeper! So what's new for 2017?

As many of you may know I grew up on a large scale certified organic bee farm in Grovedale Alberta. I spent every summer for as long as I can remember working the bees with my dad, uncles, friends, neighbors, foreign workers and whoever else we could get to help us out. Those were long days of hot, intense, backbreaking work and I loved it! Years later I found I missed the bees and yearned to run

my own hives. That time finally came when my husband and I moved onto an acreage on the city limits of Grande Prairie. The goal of this new bee operation was to make it as simple and enjoyable as possible and the bees rewarded me more than I ever expected! In 2014 the Cottage industry of Hahny Bee Honey was started. I've had so much fun over the past 3 years with the bees, with working with my dad and uncle again, with teaching my own kids, with working with some pretty awesome local Health food stores and coffee shops, and getting to know all the wonderful customers, who have responded so well that I now sell out every year just before the spring honey starts to flow. I love having the opportunity to share this journey with you through my page and when you stop by and I drag you out to my Bee house to see the bees fly! We are so excited to be incorporating Flowhive technology into our operation. This new technology fits in so perfectly with our vision....being gentle on our bees and producing the highest quality natural products. Stay tuned for updates and pics! Also, now that the bees have accepted the honeycomb equipment we are hoping to have a lot more comb honey for sale this coming year! In my German family we do the Christmas celebrating on Christmas Eve. That’s the big meal and presents at my folks.
I decided just today that I’d do Christmas Day dinner here, since it’s much more low key, but I also decided I’m not leaving the house to get a damn thing! Luckily I have a pork loin in the feeezer and lotsa honey and bacon! I’m excited to give it a try!
I’m curious who’s team Christmas Eve? And who’s team Christmas Day?

This bacon wrapped pork tenderloin is an incredible way to prepare pork that happens to only require 4 ingredients: honey, bacon, pork and olive oil!

I am working on my last batch of Tea Globe packs for the year ❤️

The gorgeous green globes are "Green Tea and Honey" made with delicious organic honey from Hahny Bee Honey 🐝

Tea Globes are handmade spheres crafted from sugar and infused with the essence of tea plus edible glitter for added magic!

To brew, simply boil water, submerge the globe, and let steep. Watch as the sugar sphere dissolves, releasing the flavors of the tea and the glitter! 🌟

As these are a work of art, I was only able to make a few boxes, so as soon as I'm sold out, it will be it for 2024. 🥰 Please comment below if you'd like to reserve a box or 2 or message me FCFS 🙂 Each 4 pack is $25. Pick up will be this Friday before 6 pm or Saturday after 4 on the North side of town 🙂

Getting ready for today’s beeswax projects. I clean and filter all my wax, this is the last stage where I melt off all the fine sediment the sinks to the bottom when the filtered wax is cooling. It’s so satisfying! With wax work a heat gun really is a girls best friend. #beeswax #myapiarylife

I am on holidays but honey is always on my mind! These are homemade fritters and local Montenegrin honey 😋

The last pull has happened! I’ll bee extracting this weekend for the last time this summer! Where did the time go?! All the honey the bees bring in for the couple months will be theirs to keep over the winter. 🐝 ❤️ 🍯

The Hahny has been spun! And you can now get your jars at Homesteader Health. This is our wild spring blossom honey and it is thick, darker, and stronger tasting. The bees did good!

My bestie has been on an epic adventure hiking the Monkman pass. She sent me this on day 7 of the bushwack :). Hahny Bee lotion bar for the win! I had no idea she was bringing one and I know from experience when you are carrying your kitchen and bedroom on your back for days you are VERY choosy what you bring!!
