🌳☀️Watching the World☀️🌳

This weekend is a perfect time to get your dog out of the house and watch the world go by! You can do this from your front yard, your driveway, or anywhere you find yourself this weekend! The only goal is to watch and reward any calm/relaxed behaviour from your dog!
We do this to get our dogs used to the outside environment, traffic, people passing by, etc. It is the perfect activity to build confidence in your dogs.
Today I had about 30 minutes while I waited for the truck to be washed, so me and Trigger found a nice shady tree and watched the traffic go by. At the end of the session Trigger even layed down, showing me he was comfortable and relaxed!! A perfect end to an easy yet important training session!

I’m happy to say I am now an Elite Fear Free Certified Professional!!

What does that mean?
A FFCP is someone that has been trained to identify your pets emotions including fear, stress, anxiety, and many others. They are able to see the world through your dogs point of view and help keep your dogs best interest in mind at all times times!

Where can this be applied?
A FFCP can be utilized anywhere. My training helps me both in the vet clinic and in the the real world. Knowing how to read a dogs behavioural ques and teach others to do the same is incredibly helpful to further connect owners and there pets!

I’m so excited to add this certification to my name and utilize my skills in this department!

When training we don’t always need to leave the yard, sometime just getting there engagement and focus can be the goal!

Welcome to Mindful Mutts!! My name is Mackenzie and I am a RVT at Bear Creek Animal Clinic and a Dog training instructor at Creating Connections! I am working towards becoming a behavior specialist so I can help clients and there dogs with training and behavior modifications.
