Hello fellow groomers and dog lovers. I have not posted in a few years due to life and just to many reasons to list. But I wanted to take the time today to post this video and pictures to follow to illustrate the importance of early and regular grooming for all dogs. This wonderfully brave girl is 1 year old and was groomed for the first time today! As you can see from video and photos, her coat became so tightly matted to the skin that it became a solid pelt. When this happens their coat no longer does the job it is intended to do (protect your dogs skin, keep their temperature regulated and protect them from the elements) and instead begins to cause harm and damage as the skin is no longer able to breath. Please please research the dog breeds you are looking to bring into your family and understand their grooming needs. Some dogs need grooming as often as every 3-4 weeks to maintain their proper coat condition. If this is not something you can provide please do not take them on.
