We currently have a litter of puppies that will be ready to go home in a little under 4 weeks and there is two black females (pink and red collars), and yellow female available. Dam is Huntersbest Red Devil (Manc) and the sire is Southrock’s Gunner (Gunner). Both parents have been hunted over. Gunner has his JH l, WC, and working on his SH, JFTR. Manc has her JH, WC, WCI and will continue working on her titles next summer. This is a line breeding with strong pedigree on both sides with a lot of Huntersbest dogs on both sides. Both dogs love to please are very biddable. If you would like to hear more on this litter or would like to have the chance to get one of these puppies please reach out on Facebook or you can call (902) 956-1105.

Hello everyone,
We would like to update you all on the most recent litter for this upcoming summer. Sadly, AI was unable to occur because Manc's heat cycle did not go as planned, and the window was missed. We would like to extend our apologies to those who were hoping to get their puppies this summer. That being said, we are planning to breed Manc in her next heat cycle this fall. Knowing that her heat cycle can vary, we will plan for this in advance and hopefully have a successful breeding. We will be reaching out to those who were hoping to get their furry friends and keeping them updated with what is to come in this next heat. We look forward to providing you with your next furry friend.
Hello everyone,
We would like to start off by wishing Don and Carol a happy retirement and wish them all the luck in their future endeavours. We could not have asked for a better lineage and name to carry on growing and to continue to build upon. We appreciate all the hard work you both have done in creating some of the best and most versatile dogs in the pet/hunting/competitive world. We look forward to continue to keep up your hard work and the standard you held.
I think it’s time we introduce ourselves and our dogs. We are a family of 5 being Pierre and Sonya with three kids Noah, Gabriel, and Melina. We all play a huge part in how these dogs are raised, trained, and taken care of. We started our journey not that long ago when my boys had found an interest in goose hunting and we were looking for a family companion after losing our previous and thought it would be amazing to buy a lab from Southrock Labradors (Scott Gouthro). After getting our boy gunner and spending the tremendous time it takes to train a competitive dog that can also hunt all week and curl up with the family at night we were hooked and have never looked back. We currently have added Manc to our family and have quickly fallen in love with her both in the house and in the field. We plan to continue producing amazing family dogs that will curl up with at home but can also compete with the best of them and keep you company in the hunting blind. We look forward to the opportunity to provide you with your future competitor, hunting buddy, and family friend. We are open to answering any questions, or concerns. We also welcome the opportunity to hear your experiences with your fur friend. We are excited for this opportunity and are ready to hit the ground running this summer filling up your page with photos of the fur babies.
Thank you again Don and Carol words can’t describe how grateful we are to get this opportunity. Thank you everyone for making Huntersbest Labradors the great dogs they are today. We look forward to working and meeting you all one day.
After 32 years, It is time for us to move on to another adventure, But we did not want our retiring to be the end of our Huntersbest line. We have arranged for Pierre Tremblay and his 2 sons ( Noah and Gabriel) to continue with breeding our Huntersbest Labradors line and to provide our Huntersbest clients with quality family, Hunting and competitive dogs for years to come.
We are very Happy that Huntersbest is returning to Nova Scotia where it all began 32 years ago and will continue to thrive under the guidance of Pierre and his sons in Bass River.
Thank you to all our clients for your support and loyalty over the years and we hope you continue to support Pierre, Noah and Gabriel going forward.
The [email protected] email address will remain with Pierre and his sons.
So thank you again, so long and enjoy life.
Pierre, Noah and Gabriel thank you so much for continuing with the stewardship of the HUNTERSBEST Labradors line, Good luck and enjoy.
The p**per scoopers are now yours to deal with !!
DON & CAROL.
Half brother and sister. Six month old Frank on the couch in England and two and a half year old Manc in my chair in Canada!
Frank left us 5 weeks ago to fly to Edinburgh Scotland and then had a 5 hour car ride to his new home in Dukinfeld , Cheshire UK with his new parents Shaunna and Jack. We flew over 2 days ago to do the requisite welfare check. We are happy to report that Frank has settled in well. He is a well-behaved, happy British lad who has already had visits to the dog friendly pubs here in the UK!!!!
For all of those that have asked, Frank arrived safely in Scotland yesterday and had a great drive home to Manchester and his new home. He does appear however to be having a bit of a tough time settling in and relaxing in his new environment hahaha!
Well after spending the first four months of his life with us the little man "Frank" is finally on his way home. Frank is on his flight to Edinburgh Scotland tonight where he will be met by his mum and dad in the morning to start his life in Manchester England. Enjoy your life as an English Gentleman Frank, listen to what Shaunna and Jack tell you, be well behaved and don't spend too much time in the pubs!!!!
Well the last of the pups have gone to their new homes. This just leaves us with Frank for the next two months until he is old enough to fly to his new home in Manchester, UK at the start of November. With his good breeding and intelligence Frank will no doubt be a Manchester United fan!
It was vet visit day for the pups. None of them looked to happy about the experience but all were good and checked out well. Even more importantly we made it to the vet and back with no pees or craps in the crates!!! On another note we had a last minute cancelation for personal reasons and now have a female available. If any one is interested send us a message.
The action starting to pick up. Next two weeks will be hectic.
Five and a half weeks old and almost over night the cute cuddly sweet pups have started to turn into toe biting, ankle chewing beasts!
Another day of eating, playing and p**ping on the deck is in the books. Mosquitoes are out so we have moved inside for a bit more playing before calling it a night. Five weeks old tomorrow!
Pups had their first non mum meal this morning. They loved it and licked the bowl clean! This should kick the p**p production into high gear, now our real work begins!!!!!!!
Damn kids wear a mum out!
Nothing like an afternoon on the deck and a visit from mum!
Rainy day outside today so a lazy afternoon of napping inside is on the agenda!
Out on the deck this beautiful sunny day enjoying lunch with mum!
Two weeks old today! Eyes are open, they are getting chunky and they are on the move.
9 days old today everyone piled up at the breakfast bar this morning!

After morning drills on a hot and humid day, Chevy and Manc enjoying cooling off and chasing the cold water coming out of the hose!
All the other dogs aired, treats given and in bed for the night . Tater and Ainslie have decided bed time can wait and that it is playtime!!!! I guess my bed time will have to wait as well.
Well after 3 plus inches of rain earlier in the week it just keeps coming down today with another inch or two expected by tomorrow morning! Things are getting a wee bit saturated and muddy!!!! On the plus side its nice and warm and no ice or snow.
Client dogs Ainslie, Moose and Tater enjoying some fun play time around the pond after a beautiful day of training. Moose is a great help cleaning up twigs, sticks and even trees from around the ponds edge!!!!
After two missed winter trg trips south due to COVID, some of the dogs enjoying a mid morning swim while we get the airing yard back together!
Pups and Zeeva on the way to the vet this afternoon for their check ups and shots. All went well and all are are doing great. Big thank you goes out to Laura Rance for driving Carol and the pups to vets for the appointment while I am laid up. Also our apologies to Laura it really is the first time every pup in a litter has pooped in the transport vehicle on the way to the vets. Sh*t happens they say!!!!
