Here’s a fact not many of you may know ! By law, an egg can be sold up to 30 days after the date it was put in the carton. And farmers have up to 30 days to go from when the egg is laid to the time it’s put in the carton and sold, That means supermarket eggs can be two months old by the time you buy them and have a sell by date of upto 4 to 6 weeks after that 😳 so the “ fresh eggs “ you are buying could be over 3 months old by the time you eat them 😩 it’s no wonder the free range eggs we eat and sell from our own happy little hens not only taste totally different but are full of goodness and nutrition due to there natural diet and being so fresh ❤️

So here at Iron Horse Acres, we believe in helping out others with neat tips and tricks to make homesteading more enjoyable. For those who keep chickens or rabbits in pens using hardware cloth and find it difficult to see your animals, simply paint the wire mesh with flat black paint and watch it disappear. The transformation is incredible. Check out the pictures.

GREAT NEWS!!! Because of popular demands for the top knotch chicken meat birds we produce, we have decided to make a double batch this year. Meaning? We will have more meat chickens available for this June. If you missed out on the first order form, contact us asap to reserve yours now. They do sell out fast. This will be the last batch as we are unable to sustain any more birds and keep the quality our clients expect. See the other prior post for details. Keep in mind that we might not be able to get specific weight of birds you might desire but we will try as much as possible. We are a big bird farm and unfortunately do not do raise small ones like the grocery stores have.

Hi everyone! 🌞👍 Well it's that time of year again. We are placing our order for meat chickens and was wondering if you're still interested in getting some of them. They are the White Rock breed and range between 8 to 13 pounds depending on maturity. We estimate the price on being around the $6/lb mark but will confirm before slaughtering day.
