This month's Beach themed was another huge success. The girls absolutely loved everything in it. I shared some of the items with the boys. Mr Kiwi is the first and only rat to actually sleep in a teepee hide without "making DIY modifications" to it. This little potato is such a sweet boy.

Last night, I lost one of my most favorite boys unexpectedly. We were playing with him before supper and went back to play some more after supper and he was just laying of the floor of his cage. He sometimes pancakes there when it's hot out so we didn't think anything at first. Then my daughter jokingly said "Wolver are you playing dead?" He never moved. She went to pick him up and he had passed. He was still warm. We are still in shock. He was fine before. There were no signs. My big gentle giant was just gone. He was the sweetest boy and would just let you pet him all day and fall asleep in your hand. He was even my hubby's favorite. I will miss you big guy. 💔🌈

Introducing dwarf and both standard size from These beautiful and energetic girls are such sweethearts are already stealing the show with their insane speed during playtime and beyond cuteness overload. One second they are in front of you and the next on the other side of the cage bouncing on their spring legs.

One of the most common illnesses in rats is respiratory illness. In the rescue world, it's rare to hear of them never having had at least one bought during their lifespan. Less common in the ethical breeding world where they focus on health and temperament. To acclimate rats to a highly likely need for antibiotics, I start "treat" feeds via syringe for all rats so that if/when they become sick, they are already used to this method and take it willingly. As you can see by Cinderella and her siblings. Chocolate ensure seems to be a fan favorite and hides the bitter flavour of most meds. I love watching their little grabby paws hold the syringe! ❤️

I forgot how incredibly fast dwarf babies are. Lol. These boys have joined. Bones, Wolverine and Bruno and the big boys couldn't be happier. It's hilarious watching the wee ones hop allover and get piggy backs from the biggies. The bigger boys are so gentle with the littles and have all taken on the big brother roles so well.
