Do you love cats? Looking for a way to give back to the community? Have 2 hours a week free?

We are looking for some new volunteers!

When you are volunteering for us some of the jobs that one would have to do daily is:

-filling food and water
-cleaning litters
-sweeping and mopping
-general cleaning
-socializing the cats.

If you think you may be interested in volunteering please message us on this page and we will give you a volunteer application.

It's that time of year again! We like to remind folks that responsible cat ownership comes at a cost. We want people to adopt, but please consider how much a pet can cost in a year and over a lifetime. Before getting a new pet, secure a local vet, some aren't taking new patients. Investigate the costs of emergency vet visits and yearly exams, parasite prevention etc.

Friendly reminder to secure your pet a veterinarian before it's an emergency. If you're thinking of adopting a new pet, start looking for a vet who is taking on new patients. Many people are unaware an after hours emergency vet visit can start at $400+. Prices have gone up on everything. Be informed on some basic vetting costs so you aren't surprised later. Consider investing in pet insurance, or put a small amount of money aside each month.

We have been testing our cats with kids and dogs! Message us if you're looking for a cat to add to your home.
Leave your dog at home, but kids are welcome.

Tulie is a gorgeous little calico. She is rediculously friendly with people, and absolutely despises the other cats...lol. We are recommending she go to a home where she is the only cat. Honestly, the cat shop is a lot of cats in a small space.

Update: Adopted!

This giant handsome dude is Johnny Depp. He's available for adoption. 6 year old neutered male. He will need an owner that can keep up with regular brushing. You might want to plan for appointments with a cat groomer because he's got a lot of fur 😍

We have a pair of sisters looking for adoption. They are 6 months old, spayed and ready for a family. They don't seem like a bonded pair, but wouldn't it be cute to adopt both?

Our little Patty is looking for a home. This tiny girl is 3 year old spayed female her adoption fee is $100. She's small in size but large in personality. She doesn't let the bigger cats push her around. Contact our page to meet Patty and other cats waiting to be adopted.

Boots is a 6 year old neutered male cat. Adoption fee is $60. This big fella is larger than life. He will likely need a home that can put him on a diet. I just love him. At this time we don't recommend him in a home with kids under 16. He loves to be pet, and will follow you around, slowly. A handsome fellow who would make a great companion. Sarge is a handsome lap cat looking for a home. He takes a bit to warm up but sit down and he will come looking for love. He has beautiful tuxedo markings and his nose looks like the ace of spades. Elvis is full of love to give. Elvis is a neutered male cat looking for a family of his own. He is quiet and easy going and just wants to be loved. He's a really good boy, does well with other cats, and we think he would be good in a home with a dog that's respectful of cats. Not yet tested with children. Sophie is looking for a home! Sophie loves to follow you around the shop. She's so friendly and affectionate. She is 5 years old, spayed female. She's a smaller cat with big blue eyes. She lets the other cats know when she needs space, but she lives to be right with the humans. Please share so we can find a home for this beautiful little girl. UPDATE: our Dublin was adopted!!!!

Who's looking for a bit of mischief and excitement in their life? Dublin is a handsome, chatty 6 year old neutered male looking for a home. Dublin was brought in in March 2022, and has been adopted and returned twice. He enjoys eating house plants, climbing heights and meowing at you from said heights. He's quite the character. We currently feel like he would be best suited in a home as the only cat. Though, he co-exists with the other shop cats, ( Especially Hazel who is shy and quiet). He's a favourite with shop volunteers, but we know he needs a special home that will understand his unique personality. Please share to help us find Dublin a home! Adoption fee is $60. Thinking of getting a kitten or cat? Annual costs of owning a kitten or cat according to the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association. $3000+ for a kitten, and $2500+ for a cat. Adopting from a shelter or rescue helps keep initial costs down. Is this your experience with cat ownership? I'm really finding the costs of keeping pets has gone up. Especially emergency vet bills, and one of my cats has a prescription diet. Please share

Thank you all for a wonderful year and being patient with us as we adjust and readjust how we are running.

We will be closed for appointments from tomorrow until January 3rd in order to give our volunteers a well deserved break.
