Langdon TS 2016-2024

Sadly on March 26 we lost Langdon suddenly in a tragic accident.
This has been a devastating loss for Trevella, in particular Christine as he was her mare Pelanca’s final foal and for Carolynn who he helped find joy in the show ring again. Langdon was truly loved by everyone who met him for his big personality. He had his momma Nia’s cute face and incredibly willing attitude. He greeted every person who walked into the barn with a distinct nicker that is noticeably missing now. He was playful and personable and impossible not to love.

Langdon, from his very first show, loved to
be in the show ring. All of his quirks and weirdo moments on the ground disappeared in the ring and he became a true show horse. He had so much zest for competing that he had to be reminded, every now and then, that hunter judges don’t always appreciate a squeal of enthusiasm at the beginning of a trip. He had a big heart and always tried his best. He was a joy to ride and show.

The impact of losing Langdon serves as a reminder of how fragile horses are and how lucky we are to share in their lives while they are with us. We are grateful for our time with him yet deeply saddened by how short it was as it was hoped Langdon would be a part of Christine’s family for many years to come. We hope wherever he is he is happy, no longer afraid of his own tail, and eating an endless supply of his most favourite treat: grass.
