It's almost time!! 😊

🚗 I will be on vacation visiting family in Nova Scotia from Aug 10-23.

I am so looking forward to spending much needed time recharging with family and friends.

Thank you to all my pups and pawrents for allowing me a full 2 weeks off. I appreciate your ongoing support. 🥰

😢This is the 2nd death I've read about today at the hands of this monster! Please spread the word to stop this individual from hurting more sweet souls

This sweet boy is Sam. He came into our care in the very early days of our organization.
In early 2021, a young woman who owned her own pet-sitting business contacted us, offering to help us with dogs who couldn’t find foster homes. Being as this is how I got started in rescue (through animal care!) I was delighted to hear that someone had the same intentions. Her home photos and reference check all came back clear, and she was VERY eager to help. At this point, she had good reviews and a client base who spoke highly of her; no one knew the atrocities that would follow.

She fostered failed her first dog (Sam) and then asked to help keep fostering.
We worked with her for about a month until things started getting suspicious. She stopped answering her counsellor, was getting very rude with our volunteers. She would ghost us when we would be trying to book their vet appointments. She also stopped answering or sending updates on our dogs.

A team of us went to remove our dogs from her care and she got agressive, I will not repeat the language she used towards my team but it was nasty. When the dogs came out - they were dehydrated af, both had lost 5+ lbs, were caked in urine, and very very shut down. She only had them a couple of weeks.

One of our biggest regrets was ever trusting her.
We tried many different ways but we were never able to get Sam back from her, and this haunts us to this day.

TODAY we received a call informing us that Sam is no longer with alive. We were given no details, it is unclear what happened at this time. We are devastated.

There is news circulating that there has now been several animals to pass away in her care. As a community we owe it to one another and our animals to do the right thing and advocate for their welfare. 🌞 It was another hot one today!! Chloe and I drove to Winona Park and stayed in shade for a shortened visit this morning.

Tomorrow will be even hotter 🥵 so there will be potty breaks/ shady backyard visits /indoor walks where possible/ playdates only. There will be no outdoor walks.
