It’s ! Globally, one in 10 people are affected by foodborne disease each year. Food safety saves lives, and it’s everyone’s business. The College recognizes the continuous contributions and care veterinarians put into delivering a safe, secure food supply in Ontario and worldwide.

This year’s theme underlines the importance of being prepared for food safety incidents. Now is the time to educate ourselves on navigating food recalls, keeping food safe following disasters or emergencies such as hurricanes and floods, and what to do with food in the fridge and freezer following power outages. No matter how mild or severe, be prepared for the unexpected.
