Hello! My name is June!

I'm a lovely and friendly girl. I do get excited when meeting new human friends and, like a boxer, I like to throw my paws around when I jump up to greet them. I am a silly girl who enjoys running after toys. I'm not necessarily going to bring them back to you, but I will make you laugh as you watch my bouncy style of running. We are one day away from the GHS Pet Food Drive! We will be collecting food tomorrow, Sunday, June 23rd from 10am to 2pm at 190 Hanlon Creek Blvd!

The GHS Cares Pet Food Bank supports 300 vulnerable pets in the community monthly through donations of pet food and supplies. This program aims to reduce pressures on families by providing a consistent and reliable source of health food for pets in their care, and ultimately, keeping more pets and people together.

Glinda's Happy Tail Update!

"We adopted her in November and we were attracted to her both by her cuteness but also her name, so we did not change it. She is settling in with her furry friends in the home. Glinda and our dog became good friends quickly, however our existing cat took a while to adjust to a newcomer and we had to slowly introduce them over a few months.

Happy to say that full integration has now happened and they are getting along pretty well now.

Glinda is the ruler of the household with boundless energy and often is chasing or being chased by the dog or recharging her batteries on the couch or by stealing the dog bed. Now with the warm weather, she takes great pride in being the protector of the house from house flies sometimes snagging them out of mid-air.

Sweet Beau entered our care as a stray and has been in our care for 111 days. He is still waiting for his perfect home to come along!

Beau is an energetic fellow looking for an energetic family that will play and run with him! He is very smart, and loves treats and will do almost anything for a good reward. Beau is silly and fun, but does tend to pull and bark on leash when he sees people or dogs on walks. Beau would love to join a family that will enjoy doing training with him!

With the high temperatures we are expecting this week, the decision to leave your pet in a hot car can be fatal in a matter of minutes! The Guelph Humane Society has launched a summer long awareness campaign called "Love means leaving me at home" to reduce instances of pet left in hot cars.

Sharpay now Tilley's Happy Tail Update!

"Tilley has adjusted so incredibly well in her furever home and has won over the hearts of everyone she has met - especially her Mom and Dad! Tilley is the perfect amount of spunky and cuddly that we were looking for in a furry friend. She is so incredibly friendly, loves to play with all of her toys (her favourite is her colourful wand) and is quite the little explorer and also so curious! As of recently, she is showing a lot of interest in the outdoors where we have even caught her supervising when we are out front chatting with friends and never misses anything because she is always by our side. She loves belly rubs, kisses, to sleep beside Mom and Dad and to run around the house like a little ripper! We are SO beyond happy to have Tilley in our lives and thank the Guelph Humane Society for allowing us to grow our little family by one with our Tilley girl!"

Steven now Leo's Happy Tail Update!

"He is doing so well and learning so much! It took him a little while, but he finally figured out how to drink from our little water fountain.

He also recently discovered the joy of sitting in a box, which has become his new favourite activity. He and Lynx get along like true brothers; they enjoy spending time and playing with each other a lot.

We are just one week away from the GHS Pet Food Drive to support our GHS Cares Pet Food Bank!

On Sunday, June 23rd, with the help of the Youth Apprenticeship Program participants, GHS will be collecting unopened dog and cat food, and cat litter. Donations can be dropped off at the shelter between 10:00am and 2:00pm.

"A happy tail-less update from Wilson and Wally.
We are now 3 years old, and we learned a lot this year! We really like to help Mom by:
1. We learned to tell time! One time 2 years ago Mom fed us 5 min late and we could have died. So, now at exactly 7:59 pm we sit directly in front of her and glare until she feeds us.
2. We watch the baby skunks from the window
3. We tell Mom when she needs to get her hair done.
4. We keep birds and squirrels away from the windows.
5. We check to make sure Mom has coffee in her mug.
