Wingrove Veterinary has been providing care for people and their pets for over 25 years. Wingrove Veterinary is a full service companion animal hospital.

We are located within 15 minutes of Guelph, Rockwood, Acton, Erin and Fergus. It is our commitment to provide quality veterinary care throughout the life of your pet. Our services and facilities are designed to assist in routine preventive care for young, healthy pets; early detection and treatment of disease as your pet ages; and complete medical and surgical care as necessary during his or her lifetime.

While these festive decorations are sure to bring the holiday spirit into your home, they can be harmful to our furry companions 🎄
String lights are hazardous as they can cause electrical burns if chewed on when plugged in, as well as shocks from mild to fatal severity ⚡️🔌
Ornaments are hazardous as they can be easily knocked off the tree by a wagging tail and glass shards can find their way into our pets paws. Ingestion is also a common concern. 🐾
Tinsel is hazardous when consumed as it can cause permanent intestinal tract damage and blockages at high volumes of consumption. If you see tinsel hanging from your pet please DO NOT PULL, this can cause more severe damage 🤒
Friendly reminder to keep ornaments, lights, and tinsel out of reach to keep pets safe while still enjoying the holiday cheer 🌟

To ensure your pets stay safe and happy during the holiday season be mindful of common holiday health hazards 🌲
Holly berries, mistletoe, poinsettias, and yews may look festive but they can cause serious health issues in our furry friends when ingested
If you notice your pet has nibbles on any of these toxic plants watch for symptoms such as: vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, excessive drooling, weakness, and loss of appetite ❌
If you spot any of these clinical signs please contact us or your local emergency clinic, Campus Estates Animal Hospital in Guelph 📲

Feeling in the Christmas spirit?✨

From now until Christmas we are accepting donations for Cats Anonymous and Under Dog rescue.
What does this mean?
Whether you’re in for a visit or want to stop by to donate, the wonderful ladies at reception will be happy to help.

We are accepting:
- $2 dollars for a kitten food can🐱
- $5 for a dog food can 🐶

This can be added to your bill and a can will be placed in our Christmas box under the tree! 🌲
We are also accepting donations of gently used items such as leashes, beds, toys or puppy pads!

Thank you to those who have already donated, we are happy to be helping these wonderful rescues this holiday season! ❤️💚

Ticks can be as small as .7mm (the tick photographed is compared to a dime) and can be easily missed even with a thorough check over. 🔍

Save yourself the stress by keeping your pets on prevention to make sure they are protected and to keep them from bringing unwanted visitors into your home! ❌

As RVT month comes to an end we would like to highlight Jenny, Nicole & Michelle; the incredible Registered Veterinary Technicians on our team! 🩺❤️🐾 Google will tell you Registered Veterinary Technician’s are highly trained professionals who work with veterinarians to provide animal health care … but what does that really mean? 🤔 It means that they are trained to perform a wide arrange of essential tasks including but not limited to: - Urine collection & urinalysis - Collecting and running blood samples - Taking x-rays - Cytology (examining cells under a microscope) - Monitoring anesthesia during surgeries - Post-operative care & pain management - Monitoring hospitalized & surgical patients - Nutritional recommendations and making pet specific diet plans Needless to say a veterinary clinic couldn’t operate without its RVT’s and we are incredibly thankful for these amazing individuals who dedicate themselves daily to providing the best care possible to each and every patient! 🐶❤️🐱 . #RVT #RVTappreciation #RVTmonth #guelphvet #vetmed
