Mobey is back home, angel bunny forever.🐇 🪽

We are so devastated. Last night Mobey died in our arms. He developed stasis on the weekend and we spent all day yesterday fighting for his life. Unfortunately it was not enough. It is especially shocking since he was so healthy.

Mobey came to us in January of last year and has been with us since then. As time passed we knew it would be hard to see him go if he was adopted. But we now realize he was meant to be with us. He truly became part of our family and we love him so much. ❤️ He will be dearly missed. 💔🐇

It's a lazy Sunday for Mobey.

Rabbits are charming and adorable companions, but they can be a challenge to care for. Gastrointestinal Stasis for example can kill a rabbit in a matter of hours if not treated immediately. Our own rabbits have all gone through it at one time or another.

When a rabbit's behavior changes suddenly and it hides from you that is also a bad sign. Late last night we discovered Mobey was not eating and he was also a bit lethargic. This is not normal for him so we went into 'panic' mode and began to look for stasis symptoms. After a frantic examination and some advice from our bunny expert friend, we were still not sure what was wrong with him. But moments later Mobey was stuffing his face again. So after giving us a massive scare he seems to be back to his normal bunny self!

The moral of this story is, if you are going to adopt a rabbit, educate yourself on rabbit care and health concerns, and pay attention to their behavior. It might be a matter of their life or death.
