9 am till 4 pm!

❄️ With the first big snow storm of the season heading towards us we want to let everyone know that we plan on being open regular hours tomorrow, Saturday December 21st. If you have an appointment scheduled for tomorrow, or you plan on stopping in to pickup food or medication, please call as at 902-445-4552 to ensure our staff are able to make it into the hospital.
Please keep an eye on our social media as we will keep you updated if we need to close, or are unable to open due to the weather.

Ear mites are a type of mite that lives in the ear canal and feeds off skin oils and wax.
Ear mites are highly contagious, and animals become infested by direct contact with other infested animal.

Ear mites are the second most common ectoparasite found in dogs and cats.

Clinical signs may vary and include a combination of:
1. Ear irritation, scratching, head shaking.
2. A dark waxy or crusty discharge from the ear.
3. Areas of hair loss resulting from scratching or intensive grooming.
4. A crusted rash around the ear.

Eat mites are usually easily treatable. Treatment should be prescribed by your veterinarian.
