Spryfield Animal Hospital

Spryfield Animal Hospital Providing your pet with quality veterinary medicine Our accreditation demonstrates our commitment to the highest standards of veterinary care.

The Spryfield Animal Hospital was built in 1982 by Dr. Ross Ainslie, and has since been committed to offering excellence in animal health care, promoting responsible pet ownership and health-related educational opportunities for our clients. The Spryfield Animal Hospital is one of a group of three (see also the Fairview Animal Hospital and the Halifax Veterinary Hospital) that are owned by the Hal

ifax Veterinary Hospital Inc. Our health care team at the Spryfield Animal Hospital offers over 131 years of experience with extensive and ongoing training in all aspects of Veterinary medicine. Amongst our dedication to offering the most advanced diagnostic and medical care to our patients, we also provide Laser Surgery and grooming services. The Spryfield Animal Hospital is proud to be an accredited member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). These standards cover nearly every aspect of our hospital, including surgery, pharmacy, laboratory, exam facilities, patient care, cleanliness, client service, emergency services, diagnostic imaging, and anesthesiology. The AAHA accreditation process is rigorous and exact and only about 7 percent of Animal Hospitals in North America receive this highly valued accreditation. You can visit their website at: http://healthypet.com/Accreditation/AboutAAHA.aspx to learn more about AAHA. The professional and courteous health care team at the Spryfield Animal Hospital provide the best possible medical, surgical and dental care for our highly-regarded patients. While we are experts in our field dedicated to giving our best every day, we are also pet owners who understand your desire to give your pets the best care. We treat all of our patients as if they were our own pets. Please take a moment to contact us today, to learn more about how our veterinary practice can serve the needs of you and your cherished pet. We look forward to being Your Other Family Doctor.

📸🐾 Meet Wes, our sweet and brave patient—and quite possibly the cutest post-sedation pup you’ll ever see (just look at that little tongue peeking out 😍)!

Wes came to us with a persistent limp that wasn’t improving with rest or medications. To dig deeper, we performed radiographs (X-rays), which are an essential tool for uncovering hidden issues.

While we didn’t find the exact cause this time, the radiographs ruled out some big concerns like fractures or severe joint issues. This is a critical step in guiding the next steps of Wes’s care—and his adorable recovery face made the process even sweeter!

We’re rooting for you, Wes, and can’t wait to see that wagging tail back in action soon! 🐕💛

This Remembrance Day, we pause to honor not only the brave individuals who served but also the loyal animals who stood by their side. From carrying vital messages to assisting in medical efforts, animals played crucial roles with unwavering bravery and loyalty.

Today, we reflect on the sacrifices of both human and animal heroes who fought to protect our freedoms. May their legacy of courage and devotion inspire us all to remember the importance of peace and gratitude.

🎃 Halloween is almost here! Keep your pets safe from spooky surprises with these tips:

1. Skip the Sweets – Candy, especially chocolate and xylitol, can be toxic to pets. Keep treats out of reach!
2. Glow Stick Caution – Glow sticks can be fun for us but can cause upset tummies in curious pets.
3. Decorations Danger – Wires, candles, and fake cobwebs can lead to accidental injuries. Pet-proof your decor!
4. Costume Comfort – Make sure costumes aren’t too tight or restrictive, and avoid anything they might chew on.

Have a safe, happy Halloween with your furry friends! 👻🐾
