Planning on getting married in 2025 and wondering what the Justice of the Peace fees are :
Ceremony $ 200.00
Rehearsal $ 100.00 *
Travel $ 0.5770 / km * current rate, rate may change April 1/25

• A Rehearsal is not a required part of the service and is optional

• Travel fee is dependent on the distance a JOP may need to travel for either ceremony or ceremony and rehearsal. Ask for estimate from your JOP.

All rates are set by the Province of Nova Scotia.

I always provide an estimate.

Estimates should be almost identical for all JOPs with the variable being travel and rehearsal.

Note your Licence and Marriage Certificate are separate costs from the Justice of the Peace

Applying for a copy of your Certificate of Marriage Apply for a Marriage Certificate - Government of Nova Scotia ( Short form $33 / Long Form $39.90 )

• At the time of the ceremony, your religious representative, justice of the peace or judge will give you a memento certificate.

• This document is not legal proof of marriage.

• After a marriage is registered, you can apply for an official Marriage Certificate, which is legal proof of marriage.
