This World Veterinary Day theme is "Veterinarians are essential health workers."

You may think a Veterinarian's primary focus is animal health and well-being, and you would be right. However, part of that focus is also improving the pet owner's physical, mental and social well-being. This part of their contributions is often invisible to society but the positive effects are a lasting and essential part of their profession.

We are thankful today and every day for the deep-rooted care our Doctors give us, our pets and yours!

Ruthie has been returned to her foster. She came in to see us today with 2 wonderful volunteers with Fly With Me Animal Rescue. She is such a sweet girl. Thankful for the happy ending.

From our friends at Metro Animal Emergency Clinic:

MAEC will be running at a Strict Priority 1 triage system from December 23rd until January 3rd. Which means that they will only be able to see life threating emergencies during this time.

They have partnered with VetTriage, which will allow clients to have a telemedicine appointment with a veterinarian. There is a cost of $50USD for this call, and they will direct you to MAEC if your pet truly needs to be seen.

DVM student Claire has been with us for from the University of Missouri for the past few weeks as an Intern.

Claire will make a fantastic addition to the veterinary community with a bright future ahead.

We couldn't let her leave without trying a donair of course. We will miss you Claire.
