Can anybody help guess the age of the kittens and the mother?
So our foster cat Karma has been making some good progress this summer ๐. When she first came to us she was so aggressive none of the shelters would ecen consider taking her. She would attack us just for being in the same room as her, she seemed to be confused on wether or not she liked humans. She would rub against us then scratch us because she touched us. That eventually got better and we could at least be in the room with her. We could pet her with a broom but stopped because I wanted her to tolerate human touch. I started with small touches and gave her a treat each time she did not scratch me. Now she doesn't want the treats, just the petting. It's only been a short time so I'll call it baby steps for now. I still leave her a treat each time she is friendly just to keep the consistency. But hopefully she continues to do better and can eventually find a loving home.๐ค
On the lookout for another kitty, this one has an owner. She escaped when the lady had a fire and she has been looking for her. I saw this cat a few nights ago when I was trying to locate the black cat, but did not know if it was the right cat, so I left her. Then I showed the video to the lady missing her cat and she believes it is the same one. I'm glad it's summer. Probably have to go up when it's really late and quiet again.
Karma, has been with us for almost a year. She was surrendered due to her aggression and no shelters will work with her as a result. She has unfortunately, not been on any kind of routine with visits or attention due to that but, I seem to have found a happy medium. The broom is something she enjoys, for a few minutes at a time anyway, while allowing me to stay safe. This is our interaction after just a few days with the broom. I am hoping she will eventually turn the broom pettings into actual touches. But I'll be taking it very slow, at a pace that is comfortable for her to keep our interactions positive and safe. Looks like she's gonna be with us for a while longer.
So a good samaritan picked up a cat that had been outside all night and dropped him/her off to us. It appears to be a young cat maybe a few months old, very affectionate but NOT at all happy about the kennel. I suspect it may be an outdoor kitty.
NO COLLAR on. I can not stress the importance of collars and tags enough. If you want a pet spend $10 and get it a collar and a tag. If his is your cat or if you know if it has a home please contact us.
