Milk drunk! They are getting busy when they are not sleeping so we moved them into a dog run this week to keep them safe. Starting to play a bit too!

They are getting more mobile! Ruaridth is a proud mom! 🥰

They are growing fast! Ruaridth is the best mom. She’s figured out how to come in behind them and wiggle them forward with her body so she doesn’t hurt any of them. It’s pretty cool to watch. I’ve never seen any of my girls do that before!
The puppies are the best! So cute! 🥰

Ruaridth is the proud mama of 10 beautiful babies. They arrived between late night April 12 and early morning April 14.
I decided to chose April 14th as their birthday!
She and her pups are doing amazing! Ruaridth is definitely the best mother to her pups that I have ever had! ❤️

Hank was a regular here at Roaming Rovers. A part of the pack.
He had his unique personality. Leaping off our office desk one day and over the fence was his way of saying he wanted to join our off leash hikes.
With a bit of training sure enough he was awesome for us on the hikes. He loved it.
Hank you will be missed, you touched our souls.
Our hearts go out to his family who are devastated right now.
😢😢💔🐾🐕🦺
Run free on rainbow bridge my friend ❤️

In 2004 a neighbour asked me to take care of their dog. It was fun and a few people heard about that and started asking me to care for theirs. By 2005 it was getting busy and I founded Roaming Rovers in July 2005. Over the years we learned a lot and grew. We have experience with all breeds and behaviours. Servicing over 3500 dog clients. (No not at once!!) We have always hiked off leash. I feel teaching dogs good recall creates safety, and when they run together they bond. We also enjoy nature together.
Covid-19 update: We are excited to be back with a few changes that we believe will make us better than ever. Our hours are more limited now covering our most demanding times. Covid-19 has effected business and now we are limiting daycare two days per week, so we can still provide these services to our clients. Boarding will continue everyday but by appointments only at this time. We had to reduce staffing hours because people are simply not travelling as frequently, if at all. Many people, if travelling, are able to take their pets with them so we are simply not as busy right now.
We will continue to cater to all dogs needs. Dogs who are not good with other dogs can stay in our enclosed runs in the air conditioned and heated garage with a 13 x 20 fenced in turfed run off of it.
Our main boarding area is also air conditioned and heated. We are very unique and have a set up that allows us to provide different care for different needs. Open concept in dog daycares shows lots of space but requires dogs to be able to handle that at all times. Instead we have chosen to section our areas. Our Rec room has couches, a wood stove and dog beds where dogs can lounge and cuddle with staff and they can sleep loose at night. Our larger area has room to play and crates for dogs who need to sleep in them at night. We have an office area with a couch where we greet people during drop off and pickup times and it duels as a sleeping loose area at night and when we are closed. We have a puppy room that when we aren't having puppy's we put dog beds in and a few dogs can sleep there together. Our garage is used for dogs who need to be separated from other dogs and dogs who bark a lot and makes sleeping difficult for us people and dogs boarding.
We have two outside runs. One is 48ft x 9 ft covered and turfed run. The run on the back is 60 ft. x 20 ft has artifical turf and agility equipment.
We always have staff onsite at night and this is also my home. I may be out for the evening though, for dinner or a movie! We do have Nest smoke detectors that connect to our phones in case there was ever an issue with smoke, fire or carbon dioxide.
We run dogs off leash daily to burn off energy, and reduce boredom. If your dog is not good off leash they will not go on these hikes. If they are though they will love it here. Dogs who come here are frequently "dirty" from playing in mud and running through the woods. Its a dogs life after all! We are happy to enjoy it with them!
Joanne continues to be a CKC Registered Golden Retriever Breeder. Our Dogs are tested for Hip dysplasia, elbows, eye tests, Thyroid tests and heart tests, checked and approved by a cardiologist. These tests are important to have done prior to breeding to help reduce the likelihood that your puppy gets one of these problems which are frequently due to the genetics of their parents. I am so confident with my puppies health I offer a 3-year guarantee that your puppy with be free of hereditary diseases. I currently have 40 on my waitlist and I am not accepting anymore at this time.
My dogs are my pets. They are happy and love living where they are free to run and play and do not live in kennels. Most dogs are also not related, and I do not breed dogs that are related. The parents are from different lines. Some of my breeding dogs live with forever owners but visit me regularly and litters are whelped here.
