Safety Training on ‘Emergency-Down’: This skill is so important to master for every dog & dog owner.

Our girls have responded to my ‘emergency-down’ arm cue and my call. It is used when your dog is in danger or running toward danger. This cue once saved our Quinta’s life!

How you do it:
With dogs running about (or from a sit/stay with a cue to leave) when they run toward you, extend your arm up firmly above your head. Be alert in your stance or even march forward a bit. When they run toward you, say DOWN in a firm alert voice. Your body movement (and arm firmly raised) will alarm them and get them re-focused on you and your directives.

Ask your trainer about this safety training.
