Meet Ned the handsome Newfie mix! Don’t let his size fool you—he is full of love! Recently, Ned had a bit of a mishap while chewing on a toy and ended up breaking a major K9 tooth. Thankfully, his owner acted swiftly and brought him in for a tooth removal. While he was sedated, he got pampered with a nice brush, and now he’s doing much better and has recovered beautifully. He was so happy to see his mommy afterward!
When it comes to keeping our furry friends safe, it's essential to be cautious about the bones and toys we give them. Certain bones, especially those that are hard or can splinter, can pose a significant risk to a dog's teeth. Chewing on hard items can lead to broken teeth, which can be painful and require veterinary intervention. Opt for softer, more flexible toys that are specifically designed for dogs. Always supervise playtime and regularly check toys for wear and tear, replacing them when necessary. By being mindful of what our dogs chew on, we can help prevent injuries and ensure they stay happy and healthy, just like Ned!

Round Worms
🐾 Did you know about roundworms? 🐾
Roundworms are one of the most common intestinal parasites found in dogs and cats. These long, spaghetti-like worms can live in your pet’s intestines, feeding off their nutrients and potentially causing some serious health issues.
In Ontario, roundworms are quite common, especially in puppies and kittens. They can be transmitted through contaminated soil, feces, or even from their mother during pregnancy or nursing. Symptoms of a roundworm infection can include vomiting, diarrhea, weight loss, and a bloated belly. If you notice any of these signs in your pet, it’s important to consult your vet!
To help keep your furry friends healthy, we’re offering FREE fecal exams until December 6th! This is a great opportunity to check for roundworms and other parasites. Stop by our clinic and let’s make sure your pets are happy and healthy! 🐶🐱

This can lead to various health issues like vomiting, diarrhea, rapid heart rate, and even seizures. Let's keep our pups safe and away from chocolate treats! 🐶💕 #Alma #ChocolateSafety #FurryFriends
