We are so grateful to have a group like Hobbitstee Wildlife Refuge to help us do what we could for this little screech owl. Thank you to Rick the truck driver who spotted him and brought him to us for safekeeping until Hobbitstee could get him.

This little screech owl was found injured road side by a truck driver who kindly dropped it off with our friends at the Lynden Animal Clinic.

With the help of one of our fabulous volunteer the owl made it to us.

Unfortunately the hit caused the owl to lose vision in his right eye as well as a severe concussion.

When his head is recovered we will work with the owl and help him learn to cope with his reduced vision.

Owls hunt primarily by sound and not so much vision, so we are hopeful this little one will make a full recovery in due time.

Thank you to the trucker and the fabulous staff at the Lynden Vet Clinic.

We wish Dr.Babcock a very happy retirement.

We hope this message finds you well. We want to share some important news regarding our beloved Dr. Babcock. After 37 years of dedicated service at Lynden Animal Clinic, Dr. Babcock has confirmed his retirement, effective January 31, 2025.

Dr. Babcock has been a cornerstone of our clinic and the veterinary community. His remarkable contributions, including his work with the Moringa Mission and his early days providing care for both large and small animals, have made a lasting impact on many lives. Throughout his career, he has rescued countless animals, and his compassion and expertise will truly be missed.

To honour Dr. Babcock and give everyone a chance to say goodbye, we will be holding an open house on January 30th from 10 AM to 2 PM. We invite you to join us in celebrating his remarkable career and wishing him well in his next chapter. For those unable to attend the open house, we will have a guest book at the front desk for you to leave your messages.

Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to seeing you at the open house or at another time!

Warmly,

Thanks,
Lynden Animal Clinic

As the seasons change, ensure your pet stays safe during fall activities. Watch for ticks, toxic mushrooms, and keep an eye on decorations that may pose choking hazards. Let's keep our pets safe this season - speak to your veterinarian for additional safety advice.

Rabies is a fatal disease caused by a virus found in the saliva of infected mammals. It's most common in wildlife, but can infect any mammal, including pets and humans. To prevent rabies, in Ontario, it's required by law for dogs, cats and ferrets three months of age and older to be vaccinated against the disease. This , make an appointment with your veterinarian to keep your pet protected. Let's work together to prevent rabies and keep our communities safe.

Great points to prepare for back to school!

Back to school is coming soon, and the change in routine can be stressful for your pet. If your family has been home more over the summer, you can help to prepare your pet for the upcoming changes. Here are some helpful tips to make the transition smooth:

👨‍⚕️This is your reminder to call Lynden Animal Clinic to ask about anti-anxiety medications that may help with the Fireworks coming this Canada Day weekend.

💥Our pets get frightened and can become disoriented during fireworks. Here are a couple ways you can keep your pets safe:

1️⃣ Create a safe place for your pet, preferably inside away from the outside noise.
2️⃣ Turn on the TV or Radio to muffle the loud bangs
3️⃣ Ask about anxiety medications that may help prior to the fireworks
4️⃣ Make sure your pet has ID tags on their collar in case they get loose or run away
5️⃣ Play with your pet, offer a challenging treat (like a Kong filled with goodies) that distracts them, and remain calm - they feed off our energy as well
