Today is National Labrador Retriever Day! Did you know they initially helped fisherman by fetching nets and rope and retrieving fish from the sea? They are able to swim so well with their webbed feet and their flattened otter like tail for balance and to steer while swimming!

Show us your Labradors at home, we always get to see their fun loving side in the clinic but we would love to see them relaxing in their homes!

Today the Troy Animal Hospital team had a very busy day. Thursday’s are usually surgery mornings for us and they are always busy. This afternoon we had to reschedule an afternoon of appointments to do an emergency c-section. Thank you to all of our understanding clients who rescheduled their appointments this afternoon. Mama and her 10 puppies are doing well!

We have some new news for our clients with insurance coverage with Trupanion. We are now able to do direct billing on your behalf! If you have any questions give the clinic a call and we would be more then happy to chat about it.

Today is National Gingerbread House Day and we just wanted to take a moment to remind everyone that we will be closing early tomorrow for our staff Christmas Party! We couldn’t help catching a picture of Rio when he was in for his laser treatment this week. We have a class 4 laser that has been amazing for treating a number of conditions like arthritis, wounds and inflammatory conditions.

I grew up in a century farmhouse in Valens. Like many other buildings of that era, there were stained glass elements in the some of the windows. I remember all of the colours - just as if I was looking at them today.

At our new Westover site, I am incorporating some stained glass to honour those times. My friend, who is a stained glass artist, visited today to plan her design. This will be her second installation here, the first one is already complete!
