Snow Day! ❄️

With all the snow coming down, we’re keeping things safe and taking a snow day today. The roads are messy, visibility isn’t great and we don’t want to risk it for our team or your pups.

One of our amazing clients is fostering Benny! Are you able to give him a forever home?

Benny is a young Anatolian shepherd mix from Turkey. He is very friendly. He loves all people and all other dogs. He hasn’t been around kids yet but we don’t suspect that would be a problem. He would do well in a house with another dog and some land to run around on.

With all livestock guardian breeds we recommend being experienced with working dogs.

Muzzled dogs are good dogs too.

We rescued Stevie when she was just four months old from rural Alabama. She’s a mix of Great Pyrenees and Great Dane - two powerful guardian breeds with deep-rooted instincts to protect. Given her likely livestock guardian lineage, Stevie (along with her two surviving sisters) is naturally reactive to unfamiliar dogs outside her pack.

Introducing the right tools, like a muzzle, has allowed Stevie to live a full and enriched life. With proper training, including e-collar and muzzle work, she gets to run free, explore, and thrive.

Do you love dogs, hiking, and the great outdoors? 🌲🐕 Do you want to work with some of the coolest people in Hamilton? 😎 This might be the perfect job for you!

📍 Location: Hamilton, Ontario
🦮 Position: Pack Leader (Dog Walker & Hiker)
⏰ Hours: Minimum 10 hours/week, with chances for more after training! (No weekends!)
💸 Starting Wage: $18.50/hr + $0.70/km driven 🚗

What You’ll Need:
✨ A passion for dogs and adventure!
📱 A working cell phone
🚗 A valid driver’s license and a vehicle to chauffeur our furry clients (don’t worry, seat covers provided 🐾)
💪 Independence and reliability, as you’ll be working solo and as part of our team.

Historically, most dogs have been selectively bred to do a specific job - not be an ‘unemployed’ pet. These jobs included hunting, herding, guarding, bloodsports and companionship.

When looking at adding a dog to your life considering their breed is crucial to determine whether they are compatible with your lifestyle - there’s a good chance they’ll be doing the behaviour they’ve been bred to do much of the time!

We need to have realistic expectations of breeds and what behaviours are more likely to occur (it’s what you’ve signed up for when bringing them into your home) and get creative to provide outlets for them to fulfil these breed specific needs.

Darwin is doing great on his puppy walks! Our strategy with him is to get him walking confidently on his own, then integrating dogs that can show him the ropes of a pack walk and then finally he can join us on any adventure. Leash manners and socialization with both other dogs and humans is best started young!

Our waitlist has finally opened for the first time in six months and we’d love for you to join our pack. 🐾

If you’re looking to add some extra enrichment and socialization to your dog’s life, we have space on these exciting adventures:

Monday:
Off Leash Group Play at the farm.
3 spots open.

Tuesday:
Group Adventure Hike - leash optional on a private trail.
1 spot open.

Wednesday:
Group Adventure Hike - leashed.
2 spots open.

Thursday:
Group Adventure Hike - leashed.
3 spots open.
Group Adventure Hike - leash optional on a private trail.
1 spot open.

Friday:
Group Adventure Hike - leashed.
1 spot open.
Off Leash Group Play at the farm.
3 spots open.

Some space is open on our city walks too!

Requirements:
Due to the nature of our group outings, clients must book a minimum of one service per week on the same day. This allows us to pack the dogs safely - PLUS your dog will likely find their new BFF and really look forward to seeing them!

All dogs must be over the age of 1, spayed or neutered. Dogs must be well socialized and friendly with other dogs.

We can not accept dogs who resource guard objects at group play.

Dogs must have basic leash skills and not be aggressive pullers for safety reasons - we are often hiking on rugged terrain.

We service Hamilton, Dundas, Ancaster and Burlington.

Some of our highlights from 2023:- -66% growth, our best year to date. -We will be a team of six amazing pack leaders as of next week. -We currently have 113 active clients and more on the way. -Won best dog walker in both Platinum and Diamond categories this year in the Hamilton Spec, our 5th year placing since 2019. -As of February 16th, we'll be celebrating 5 years in business. I want to send a special shout out to our team - you are what keep this engine running and some of the hardest working people I've ever met. It is a pleasure to know you and work alongside you. To our clients for growing this small business from 10 dogs and me riding a bicycle to what it is today. All of our families and supporters cheering us on. All of our followers.
