Lyme Disease

● It is transmitted to dogs (and people) through the bite of an infected tick.
Once in the bloodstream, Lyme disease is carried to and localized in joints or kidneys.
● The most common type of tick to carry Lyme disease is the deer tick, also known as the black-legged tick.
● Many dogs affected with Lyme disease seem to experience generalized pain and have stopped eating. The painful lameness often appears suddenly and may shift from one leg to another and if left untreated,
The kidney form of the disease is less common but often fatal. Most dogs infected with Lyme disease take 2-5 months before they show symptoms.

Duck Hunt
Our Hospital Manager hid over 100 tiny ducks around the clinic for the team to find and fun was had (we also learned who has a competitive side). There were 7 prizes bag of goodies awarded, color coordinated to match the ducks! Congratulations to everyone!
