In Memory of Chris Christensen who recently passed away at the age of 87 years old.

We first met Chris Christensen at the Cherrybrook booth at the Westminster Dog Show in 2015. He was an unforgettable presence—confident, generous with his knowledge, and passionately demonstrating his German-made brushes, his iconic Buttercombs, and the proper way to hold his Celestial Shears.

That meeting was pivotal for us.

Chris inspired us so deeply that, just six months later, we launched Wheatley Wares with a clear focus: to bring Chris Christensen Systems products to fellow dog show handlers, breeders, and groomers across Canada who shared the same respect for quality, craftsmanship, and excellence.

Over the years, we were incredibly grateful for Chris’s support, encouragement, and belief in what we were building. His products were not just part of our business—they became the foundation of it.

Chris’s legacy lives on in every dog show handler, groomer, and breeder who reaches for his products, in every dog cared for with intention, and in the standards he helped shape for our industry.

Chris Christensen built his legacy by seeking out the challenges dog groomers and dog show professionals were facing in preparation and finishing. He had a rare ability to translate those challenges into thoughtful, purpose-driven solutions—collaborating with skilled manufacturers and refining every detail through rigorous development. Only when each product met his uncompromising standards did he place the finished products into the hands of professionals to prove their quality and performance.

Chris often said, “Perfection is the only option.” That belief embodied everything he touched. May we never forget the impact his innovation, integrity, and unwavering commitment to excellence will forever have on the pet grooming industry.

Chris Christensen was not only our business partner, but also our mentor, our cheerleader, and our dear friend.

There will forever be only one Chris Christensen.
